Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Can’t Bleed?
"Mmph, mmph."
Jian Yu made a muffled sound, her eyes instantly rimming with red as a sheen of water veiled them.
After such a long period of shock and terror, her heart had long since reached its limit, beating erratically.
A snake before, an octopus behind—she would never again say the female lead had it easy.
"Repeat after me." Xi Yu released his hand.
He placed a light kiss on her lips, pressing and rubbing them twice as if to soothe her.
"Hm?" Jian Yu’s eyes widened bit by bit, and she swallowed nervously.
’I don’t get it, and I don’t understand.’
She decided to do as she was told. "You’ve got the wrong person. The person you’re looking for is me."
Xi Yu sneered, seizing her and forcing her to look directly at him. "Playing dumb?"
The thing on her ankle began to climb upward, forcing her legs apart.
’A little lewd.’
But Xi Yu’s gaze was dark, wet, and viscous, his expression savage. Jian Yu really couldn’t get turned on.
"I’m not pretending." She shook her head, her face pale. "I really am dumb."
Xi Yu fell into a strange silence.
"What in the world do you want?" Jian Yu tilted her head back, her body trying to retreat.
Her limbs were bound, leaving her nowhere to hide. She kicked a couple of times, her face turning bright red.
The more she struggled, the tighter the bonds became.
Jian Yu hesitated for a moment, weighing her options: "Get lost," "Let go," or "Release me."
’Time to score some points for Team Coward.’
Her eyelashes trembled, tears shimmering in her eyes. "Be gentle."
Her whispered display of weakness made Xi Yu’s breath hitch for a few moments.
His eyes darkened. He suppressed his Soul Beast and loosened his grip slightly.
’On second thought, she isn’t afraid of Ling Yanzhi, yet she’s afraid of me?’
Xi Yu’s expression immediately darkened again.
"You were looking for the wrong person. The person you’re looking for is me."
He said tirelessly, "Repeat my words. Or are you saying you’re unwilling to leave Ling Yanzhi now?"
Jian Yu put the pieces together, and it suddenly clicked.
She spoke hesitantly and cautiously, "I was looking for the wrong person... the person I’m really looking for is you?"
"Don’t use a questioning tone." Xi Yu’s brow relaxed, and the corners of his mouth lifted in pleasure.
Seeing Jian Yu’s lack of cooperation, a chilling coldness surged in his eyes.
He commanded his Soul Beast to grab her legs again and pull them gently apart.
At the same time, his hand moved downward.
Jian Yu’s body froze. She hurriedly shouted, "I was looking for the wrong person! The one I actually want is you!"
’My mind can be dirty, and my eyes even dirtier than my soul, but that doesn’t mean I actually want to experience the real thing.’
’Although those "dark room" scenes in the plot didn’t have any explicit details, every time the female lead encountered Xi Yu, it always took several days for her to get out of one.’
’This guy looks like he’s really got stamina.’
"Say it again."
His hand stopped. There was a hint of regret in Xi Yu’s voice.
Jian Yu obediently repeated it.
Again and again.
"Good girl." Xi Yu immediately sent the saved recording to Ling Yanzhi.
After a moment’s thought, he sent a copy to Pei Yin as well.
He bent down and pulled Jian Yu into his lap.
The movement was forceful, possessing the clean decisiveness unique to those in power.
Jian Yu struggled instinctively.
The thing on her ankle restricted her freedom.
She lowered her eyes, curling her toes, and looked in embarrassment at her own foot resting on his leg.
"So cute." The man lowered his head, his tall frame looming over her.
Jian Yu frowned, trying to pull her foot back, but he pinched her chin and tilted her head up.
For a moment, her breathing lost its rhythm.
He raised a hand to wipe the tears from the corner of her eye, while his other hand greedily gripped her slender waist and back.
’She looks thin, but she’s soft to hold, more comfortable than I imagined.’
The man let out a sigh of contentment.
Jian Yu was on pins and needles.
She forced down her discomfort and tried to fish for information. "Did you also come here because of the scent on me?"
"What scent?" Xi Yu buried his head against her and took a deep, thoughtful sniff. "Is it the perfume you’re wearing?"
Jian Yu was taken aback. "Er, yeah."
Although he would find out sooner or later, she still subconsciously chose not to explain.
’Among the male leads, F7 is the most uncontrollable.’
’When he goes crazy, he might be the first one to lock me up and slice me up for research.’
She gave a vague answer, "I think it smells nice. Can you tell what scent it is?"
"Yulan Fragrance with a hint of a light tea note." Xi Yu gave his answer after some thought, describing it more clearly than Sheng Yue and the others had.
He took Jian Yu’s words as a request for praise. "It’s rich, but it smells very good. No need to change it."
She felt a licking sensation on her neck.
The man made a sucking sound with his mouth.
He bit down hard. Jian Yu pursed her lips in pain. Unwilling to endure it, she gathered her strength and tried to slam her head against him.
But her waist was pinned down so tightly she couldn’t move at all.
Which made her feel a little awkward.
A light chuckle sounded from above her head.
"..." Jian Yu froze for a second.
The consequence of her shame turning to anger was that her resistance became more intense than ever.
But the bindings on her limbs were too tight. She couldn’t break free, and instead only managed to chafe her skin red.
The cold touch on her wrists was no less powerful than the Red Snake’s, and it even added a layer of horror for good measure.
’Inflict a hundred wounds on the enemy, and suffer eight thousand yourself.’ She resisted so fiercely that she became breathless, a faint blush spreading across her face.
"Baby, you seem to have gotten even more fragrant."
Xi Yu grabbed her right foot, pulling it up and rubbing the pad of his thumb against her sole.
He lowered his gaze and squeezed her rounded toes, his eyes sticky as he stared at her intently.
Then, he bent down, inching closer and closer.
Jian Yu: "..."
’Who are you calling baby?! Do I even know you?!’
’Matron, I’ve run into a real pervert!’
Her body began to struggle violently.
’There’s no harm without comparison. Does this mean Ling Yanzhi actually counts as a normal person?’
’I’ve only ever heard that being a "Shizun" is a high-risk profession. Nobody told me being a random passerby was this dangerous too!’
’I must have been possessed to agree to let the System transmigrate me into a place like this!’
’The male leads are all crazier than the last.’
Jian Yu’s eyes went numb. She gave up and decided to just let it all rot.
Until Xi Yu straightened up, his eyes fixed on her mouth.
’Damn him. Don’t even think about it!’
"Wash your mouth!" Unable to dodge, she could only shove her face into his shoulder and bite down on his clothes.
Xi Yu paused, then reached out to rub Jian Yu’s ankle. "Why haven’t the bruises faded?"
’She was poisoned by a Soul Beast yet woke up early, and now even my Healing Ability is ineffective.’
The tentacles unwillingly retracted back into his body.
With the shackles gone, Jian Yu’s hands, which had been tied behind her back, were freed.
She released her bite, looked at the small damp spot on his shoulder, and raised her hand to wipe it.
Her wrists were slender and fair, making the red marks on them seem all the more conspicuous.
Xi Yu subconsciously grabbed them.
His gaze was dangerous and dark as he looked over. "They said I can’t make you bleed."
Jian Yu looked up at him, her eyes flickering. "They?"
"Ling Yanzhi, Pei Yin, and Sheng Yue." A silver-gray earring made of chains dangled from the cartilage of Xi Yu’s ear.
As he spoke, he turned his face to the side, his voice lazy. "Why would they all say that? How could I ever hurt my baby?"
The earring swayed gently, its sharp, cold silver gleam almost melding with the confusion in his eyes.
If anyone else called her "baby," Jian Yu might not have been able to resist beating them up.
’So cheesy. Who are you trying to gross out? We’ve only known each other for a few days!’
But faced with Xi Yu’s face, Jian Yu just felt her ears go soft.
The writhing black tentacles vanished from sight, and the terror rising in her heart gradually subsided.
All that remained was the magnified face in front of her.
It was exquisite and cool, with light, hazy pupils and skin like cold white porcelain. His thin lips were tinged with pink, like a fallen peach blossom petal.
Xi Yu raised an eyebrow and lowered himself. "If you like looking, you can get a little closer."
Jian Yu pushed him away with her fingers, her hand resting on his shoulder.
Water droplets once again trickled down the back of her hand.
Her consciousness fading, she leaned limply in Xi Yu’s arms, carried like a child to Villa No. 7.
"Awake again." Xi Yu looked at the time on his Star Brain. The toxin was clearly much stronger, yet she had only woken up fifty seconds slower than before.
Jian Yu tried to sit up, then froze, discovering that her hands and feet were secured to the bed.
"Can’t have you bleeding, so we’ll just have to take it slow."
Xi Yu produced a wet cloth from somewhere and began wiping his fingers in a slow, deliberate manner.
In the afternoon sun, his long, slender fingers had a cold, white sheen, with distinct knuckles, like they were carved from white jade.
Jian Yu stared blankly at his fingers, watching a thick, viscous fluid ooze from their tips.
