Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable
Chapter 15: Fiancée Becomes Sister?

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Fiancée Becomes Sister?

Ethan could feel Chloe’s constant impatience with him now. ’She was never this hard to please before!’

"My grandma wants you to come to my house for dinner. She wants to thank you for saving her the other day." After speaking, Ethan opened the car door. He was certain Chloe would get in; after all, she had loved going to his house ever since they were little.

But after his family moved to their current home, and with his parents not around, she had stopped visiting. That was even before she was exposed as the fake daughter. Once Ethan started getting close to Brooke York, she felt she had no right to go to his house at all.

’Now that I’m holding the door for her and inviting her to my current home, she should be able to let go of her anger, right?’

He thought he had given her a perfect way out and that Chloe would surely take it. But to his surprise, she just stood there, unmoving, and actually seemed to be hesitating.

It wasn’t that Chloe didn’t want to go. Miss Prescott was very kind to her, and she didn’t want to disappoint the old woman. She had once depended entirely on her own grandmother, and after her grandmother passed away, she was left all alone.

Seeing Miss Prescott was like seeing her own grandmother; she was just as loving and kind.

’It wouldn’t be right to go empty-handed. I should bring something. Maybe I can run there and buy something I see for sale along the way.’

"Chloe York, that’s enough! I’ve already bent over backward for you, what more do you want? Besides, it’s not me who wants you to come over, it’s my grandma who wants to see you."

"And another thing, Brooke York was supposed to be my fiancée in the first place! You usurped her identity for so many years, so what’s wrong with me being a little nicer to her? What more could you possibly want?"

Ethan’s patience ran out. He went on a tirade against Chloe, seeing her hesitation as nothing more than her playing hard to get.

"Aren’t you a little too full of yourself? Go ahead and change the engagement papers right now to make Brooke York your fiancée. I wouldn’t mind, okay? Besides, you said it was your grandma who invited me. Would it be right for me to show up empty-handed?"

He never imagined *that* was what Chloe was worried about. Ethan was instantly disgusted with himself for his little outburst.

He spoke awkwardly, "You don’t need to buy anything. Besides, to thank you, my grandma has prepared a ton of food and even bought you gifts. You just need to show up."

"I get it. Just tell me where you live."

"You’re not getting in the car?" Ethan had planned on driving Chloe there. He hadn’t seen a driver waiting for her.

"I’ll run there."

"You’ll run? Are you kidding me? It takes over an hour to get to my house by car. When do you expect to get there if you run?"

’It’s that far? Does he live on a mountain?’

And what do you know, Ethan’s house really was on a mountain—a large manor halfway up the slope. She knew Ethan’s family was rich—he was the male lead, after all—but she was still stunned the moment she saw the estate.

She suddenly felt the need to lament her fate. In her previous life, she had worked herself to death just to afford a single villa, but him? He got to live in a massive manor without even trying.

No wonder Alice Cole had been so terrified she would steal her biological daughter’s marriage.

After entering the manor gates, the car drove for another two minutes before stopping at the main building.

One of the car doors opened, and a servant came over to open hers.

"Oh, Chloe, you’re here!" Seeing Chloe, Miss Prescott quickly stood up, pulled her by the hand to the sofa, and completely forgot about Ethan.

"Grandma!"

"Yes, come, sit down. Jean prepared all of this. She said you’d like it."

Jean was a long-time member of the Prescott Family’s staff. Back when Chloe used to visit all the time, Jean had gotten to know her tastes. Whenever she heard Chloe was coming, she would prepare her favorite foods.

’Even though I’m not the original owner of this body,’ she thought, ’looking at the food on the table, I can confirm my tastes are the same as hers. No wonder I transmigrated into her body.’

"Thank you, Grandma."

"Don’t thank me, I should be thanking you. You’re too thin. Here, eat more." Miss Prescott kept piling food into her bowl until a small mountain formed.

"Grandma, you eat too." Chloe kept putting food into Miss Prescott’s bowl as well, choosing dishes that were more suitable for the elderly and easy to chew.

Miss Prescott noticed this and grew even fonder of Chloe as she watched the girl serve her.

Ethan sat opposite them. Although he held his bowl and looked like he was eating, he was secretly watching Chloe the entire time.

He, too, noticed how much Chloe had changed. In the past, whenever she came to his house, she would insist on sitting next to him and would constantly put food in his bowl.

She used to be all cute and clingy with his parents, too. Not like now—so sensible and thoughtful, even serving her elders. She was even more considerate than his own mother. Sometimes when his mom served Miss Prescott, she’d pick dishes that were hard for the elderly to eat, but Chloe only chose food that was easy on older teeth.

Throughout the meal, Ethan felt completely sidelined. Miss Prescott and Chloe served each other food, their meal a lively and thoroughly satisfying affair.

After dinner, the three of them moved to the living room. Miss Prescott gave a look to a nearby servant, and soon, several more servants walked over carrying boxes, lining up in front of Chloe and Ethan.

The boxes were opened to reveal a gold-inlaid jadeite necklace, a vintage gold bracelet set with lavender jadeite, a pigeon’s blood ruby and gold necklace, and more. ’Just these few items feel like they’re worth tens of millions.’

"Chloe, these are all gifts from Grandma. See if you like them."

"All for me?"

"Yes. For now, this is all I could think of to give you. You’re still in school, so there are many things I can’t give you yet. Once you get to university, Grandma will buy you designer bags, cars, houses... Whatever you want, I’ll buy it for you. As many as you want, I’ll buy them. How does that sound?"

Forget Chloe; even Ethan, who was drinking water, was so shocked he almost spat it all out.

’She’s being treated even better than me, her actual grandson! My grandma really likes Chloe. She’s completely treating her like a granddaughter!’

’Designer bags, cars, houses?’ Chloe didn’t dare to imagine how rich she’d be if she owned all that. ’And I can have as many as I want? This is what a novel’s world is like. So fucking rich!’

Although she was tempted and pleasantly surprised, she had only given the woman a bottle of yogurt. ’How can I accept so many valuable things from her?!’

"Grandma, no, these are far too valuable. I can’t accept them."

"It’s fine, take them all. You saved my life, and I like you. If you don’t accept them, I’ll feel bad."

"Chloe York, just accept them. You’re not the real heiress of the York Family anymore. It would be good for you to have these things," Ethan chimed in, trying to persuade her.

"You brat, if you don’t know how to talk, then don’t," Miss Prescott scolded when she heard what Ethan said.

Scolded, Ethan rubbed his nose in embarrassment. ’But I was just telling the truth!’

After the scolding, Miss Prescott looked at Ethan, then back at Chloe. ’No,’ she thought, ’Ethan isn’t good enough for Chloe.’

"Chloe dear, how about this? Why don’t you accept me as your grandma—your real grandma? Just be my granddaughter, what do you say?"
