Chapter 29: Chapter 29: What is Truth? Deep Accumulation, Explosive Release
Although the mysterious diary held a certain allure for Wang Ya, he knew exactly what his current goal was.
He pulled a book from the shelf: *The Relationship Between the Inertia and Activity of Elemental Particles*. It would allow Wang Ya to understand the fundamental nature of the effects produced by the Fire Elemental Energy Witchcraft he cast.
Moving from a macro-level understanding to a micro-level perception was the prerequisite for changing this particular Witchcraft’s conventional casting method and particle ratios. Whether the spell’s power would increase or decrease after such modifications—or if it would fail entirely—depended completely on the one implementing the change.
Furthermore, any Wizard who could master this and apply it broadly within their chosen Wizard Path had proven they possessed the qualifications and ability to conduct their own Wizard Experiments.
Once Wang Ya entered a state of research, time seemed to lose all meaning for him. Only when his body needed to replenish its energy to satisfy his cellular needs would he head to the automated restaurant on Ancient Forest Mountain for a high-protein meal.
He was incredibly focused, his feather pen constantly scratching across scrap paper as he recorded his questions and insights.
After completing a section of his studies on Extraordinary Knowledge, he would return to these notes to puzzle over his questions and work through his confusion.
Like a sponge, he tirelessly absorbed the nourishment of the Extraordinary, strengthening the areas where he was lacking.
Harak stood before the windowsill, as still as a statue. Its blood-red pupils were narrowed, and it seemed to be thoroughly enjoying this state of tranquility.
A sea breeze blew in from the coast, rustling the trees and lifting Wang Ya’s hair and robes.
His long, fair fingers pressed down on the fluttering pages. The scrap paper beside him was covered in densely packed script.
Within the magnificent, golden hall, luxurious decorations were everywhere. Even white jade and gold, so prized in the Mortal World, were used as nothing more than common floor tiles here.
"Hahaha! Welcome, everyone! The cuisine here at Baolin Mansion will absolutely not disappoint you."
Mosi’s voice echoed throughout the grand hall. White candles flickered atop long dining tables where, through the diligent work of mortal servants, silver plates were set down before every Wizard Freshman in attendance.
These tables filled the entire hall, easily accommodating the crowd even though the number of Wizard Freshmen who attended had far exceeded Mosi’s expectations.
Mosi and his few friends from so-called Wizard Clans exchanged glances, a hint of delight visible in their eyes.
Anna came from a noble family and had lived a life of immense luxury as a mortal, but even she was put to shame by a scene like this.
The freshmen at the tables around her were all from the same Wizard Ship. Those of noble birth managed to maintain a basic level of composure, but some of the commoners and descendants of Knights could not hide the astonishment on their faces.
’Using gold and white jade for floor tiles... How much manpower and resources must have been spent on such a magnificent building?’
A hint of mockery flickered in Mosi’s eyes. ’Just a bunch of natives from the Island Continents who’ve never seen anything, as expected. Why would a true Wizard care about gold and silver? The fame and fortune that worldly mortals chase isn’t worth a single Magic Stone to us.’
Wizards kept their distance from the Mortal World. Besides the fact that the Particle Energy they radiated could easily kill those fragile, pitiable mortals, there was a more fundamental reason: they were on a completely different plane of existence, people from two separate worlds.
Mosi was very pleased with the crowd’s reaction. In his eyes, these island natives might possess the aptitude for wizardry, but they had yet to shed their humble and timid mortal hearts. Freshmen like these were easy to deal with.
"Come! Let us celebrate our meeting. A toast to this moment!"
As the center of the party, Mosi walked among the tables with a drink in hand. The few freshmen from Wizard Clans at his side did the same, approaching different groups.
Warm light bathed the entire hall, and the hanging colored lanterns were inlaid with sparkling gemstones.
Throughout the grand hall, the clinking of metal cutlery against silver plates could be heard as guests cut into the delicious food and brought it to their lips.
In the warm light, everyone’s cheeks were flushed and wreathed in smiles, as if they were tasting happiness itself.
Anna’s long, fiery red hair seemed to burn in the light. Her scarlet pupils reflected the swirling wine in her glass. As glasses clinked, she pressed her red lips to the rim, her slender throat working as she swallowed.
She looked at the handsome, fair-skinned young man before her and smiled, her allure simply breathtaking.
’I’ve found my target!’
Mosi’s gaze fell upon the Wizard Freshmen at Anna’s table. He then glanced at the surrounding tables, and a plan began to form in his mind.
He smiled. "My beautiful lady, might I have a moment of your time to discuss some of life’s interesting events? For instance, we could talk about our time on the Wizard Ship, or about these new, yet incredibly precious, friends we’ve just made."
Anna gave him a flirtatious look, her red lips parting. "Of course."
In the eyes of mortals, Wizards were mysterious and unknown. In some cases, their name was even synonymous with evil.
On some Island Continents yet to be discovered by Wizards, the people were ignorant and backward. They worshipped Evil Gods through sacrifice, and some even developed theocracies where divine authority ruled over the populace.
When Wizards eventually discovered such Island Continents, the combined power of faith and Mental Will would often give birth to a true Evil God.
Even outside the Wizard World, in the rifts between the Inner World and Outer Space, grotesque and twisted entities would be drawn in by this phenomenon, leading to severe consequences that required immense effort to suppress.
Mental Will was also a source of a Wizard’s Power—the lever that could pry upon the material world and realize the Extraordinary power of one’s true self.
Just then, Wang Ya encountered a question that both troubled and fascinated him—one that was also related to Mental Will.
On the desk before him, a black book lay open. The first page bore what was both a summary of the entire work and a question posed to the reader.
Angelle Guanxi: Wizards pursue truth, but what is truth?
’Yes, what is truth?’
Wang Ya fell silent. The question posed by the author of *Wizardry Theory* seemed simple, yet it held so many possibilities that Wang Ya had no idea how to even begin to answer.
Many answers surfaced in his mind.
’Is it practicing the Wizard Meditation Method, step by step, to gain Extraordinary Power?’
’Is it mastering more Extraordinary Knowledge to understand the world and possess the power to influence everything?’
’Is it to improve and transform oneself, to pursue eternity and achieve absolute immortality?’
Each path was beautiful and true, and each was something Wang Ya genuinely desired. They were the very desires of life itself.
But Wang Ya knew he could not use any of these answers for the question... *What is truth?*
