Chapter 28: Chapter 28: An Interesting Wizard, Treasure Diary
The freshman residences are equipped with Biological Cultivation rooms.
Freshmen who choose Cultivation Witchcraft spend their days cultivating within these rooms. There’s even a specialized numerical detection device that applies Wizard Technology.
It can accurately collect data on the cultivated creatures and track the progress of the Cultivation Witchcraft.
It’s not as accurate as the Eye of Truth, but it’s mostly error-free.
Wang Ya locked the Blue Poison Monkey in the cultivation room. The builders had considered the possibility of cultivated creatures going on a rampage and had installed specialized restraint devices.
There are a great many Wizard Freshmen at Ancient Forest Mountain, and the Newborn Witchcraft they choose aren’t limited to just the Elemental Energy Type and Extraordinary Cultivation Species.
At least, Wang Ya knew that among this batch of Wizard Freshmen, there were Witchcrafts related to the Mechanical Mage System and even bloodline awakenings corresponding to the Bloodline Mage System.
The latter is extremely rare and certainly not something a freshman from a common background could possess. Only those from Wizard Clans could afford to use Wizard Surgery to implant expensive Extraordinary Bloodlines into their descendants.
A powerful Extraordinary Bloodline could even, step-by-step, produce an Official Wizard.
Bloodline Wizards have a unique early-stage advantage. By cultivating the bloodline within their bodies and continuously developing it, every advancement brings a huge leap in Power.
There are even examples of becoming an Official Wizard within a hundred years.
As long as one implants an Extraordinary Bloodline, getting their foot in the door is practically a certainty.
The exorbitant cost of Extraordinary Bloodlines is enough to dissuade most people. In fact, many powerful Extraordinary Bloodlines have a price but are impossible to find on the market.
The market for Extraordinary Bloodlines from Low-tier Extraordinary Creatures is decent, however. In shops and organizations related to Wizards, one can buy them as long as one has the money.
If Wang Ya wanted to, he could also consider seeing if he could extract an Extraordinary Bloodline from Harak and sell it for a good price.
Wizard Clans would almost never consider implanting Low-tier Extraordinary Bloodlines into their descendants, as they generally opt for middle or high-tier ones.
The Wizard World operates on the principle of equivalent exchange. The advantages a Bloodline Wizard gains can, in some respects, also become a hindrance.
The core essence of a Bloodline Wizard is their Extraordinary Bloodline. The maximum Power they can attain is limited by the original potential of the bloodline they choose.
As Wang Ya pushed the door open and entered, Harak flew over from a clothes rack and landed on his shoulder. Wang Ya stroked the back of its neck playfully.
Harak closed its eyes, enjoying the attention, and let out a low call.
If one were to implant Harak’s Extraordinary Bloodline, they could at best become a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice—or possibly even worse.
Harak is an Extraordinary Creature that was cultivated, not born. Whether it even has an Extraordinary Bloodline is questionable.
Wang Ya didn’t have much knowledge on the subject, so for now, he couldn’t clearly grasp the relationship and differences between Extraordinary Bloodlines and cultivated creatures.
Besides, he had no intention of taking the path of a Bloodline Wizard.
Anyone with true ambition and clear goals would never choose a predetermined Wizard Path.
On the bookshelf, Wang Ya had arranged the books on basic Extraordinary Knowledge in the middle, where they were within easy reach.
The rest of the books—those about the environment and geography of the Dark Land, the surrounding Wizard Influences, and even philosophical discussions on the future development of the Wizard System—were all placed on the upper and lower shelves.
It took about half an hour for Wang Ya to sort through and select the books on basic Extraordinary Knowledge he needed to master next.
The pile of books on his desk formed a stack half a meter high.
And all of this was just to gain an understanding of the most fundamental aspects of the Extraordinary in the Wizard World.
The ability to conduct Wizard Experiments independently was a strict prerequisite for truly stepping onto the Wizard Path.
There were far too many things to consider. The amount of knowledge one had to master was ten, even a hundred times the content of the books before him.
[The Activity and Inertia of Elemental Particles] [On the Influence of Fire Element Particle Energy’s Frequency and Amplitude on Witchcraft Potency] [Elemental Essence Theory] [A Detailed Explanation of Wizard Particle Energy] [Dissecting the Extraordinary Book]
Wang Ya had found the books on basic Extraordinary Knowledge that had been mentioned back on the Wizard Ship.
He smiled knowingly, feeling the same joy as one who’s just found a crucial clue in a difficult mystery game.
Wang Ya refused to believe there was no connection. ’Whoever arranged this little clue, this small puzzle, must be a very interesting Wizard.’
His appreciation for the Dark Land’s faction grew.
The situation was likely the same on the bookshelves in the rooms of the other Wizard Ships.
The prerequisite, of course, was finding the relevant information on the bookshelves in one’s room aboard the Wizard Ship in the first place.
Wang Ya figured that an estimated seventy percent of the Wizard Freshmen at Ancient Forest Mountain wouldn’t have the inclination to flip through the books on their shelves.
That wasn’t all; there were also basic wizardry knowledge books focused on the Extraordinary Cultivation Species: [Maintaining the Mystical Connection Between Cultivated Creatures and Wizards], [On Optimal Cultivation Methods and Corresponding Species Selection], and [The True Future of the Extraordinary Cultivation Species].
He didn’t find any basic Extraordinary Knowledge for other Wizard systems, however. After all, this was all meant for Wizard Freshmen, and what’s more, it didn’t cost a single Magic Stone.
When it came to Extraordinary Resources and Magic Stones, Wang Ya was considered quite wealthy among the Wizard Freshmen.
He kept the red metal ring close to his person; all of his Magic Stones and Extraordinary Resources were stored within it.
Wang Ya had already taken stock of the Extraordinary Items inside the red metal ring.
The three remaining Witchcraft Scrolls were: [Fire Element Energy Witchcraft - Red Dragon Breath], [Dark Element Energy Witchcraft - Dark Deprivation], and [Witchcraft - Corrosive Acid].
The first two scrolls were Middle-tier Witchcraft, while the last one was Low-tier. However, in certain aspects, its destructive power and utility surpassed even that of Middle-tier Witchcraft.
The last of the three books, however, greatly surprised Wang Ya.
It didn’t contain Witchcraft Knowledge or a Wizard Meditation Method... It was a diary, one sealed by Witchcraft. His Eye of Truth even detected traces of Witch Array Refining on it.
’This is outrageous. It’s as if this isn’t a diary, but a Treasure Map leading to some rare treasure.’ This really piqued Wang Ya’s interest.
[Notice: Analyzing the fifth Wizard Rune. Estimated time: twenty days.]
The Eye of Truth’s analysis time was getting longer and longer. When Wang Ya thought about Wizard Experiments that took years just to get started, this seemed normal. Once the analysis was complete, constructing the rune would be a guaranteed success. Other Wizards had to spend a massive amount of time understanding the key points of the Meditation Method, experimenting cautiously. A single mistake could lead to total failure—a failed construction.
The analysis time was perfect for Wang Ya to learn and master this basic Extraordinary Knowledge, shoring up his own weaknesses.
