Chapter 14: Chapter 13: Tearfully Earning 90 Million

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. "Not today, gorgeous, but maybe some other time."

"Then how about your contact info? What about tomorrow?" Leo Grant took out his phone, unlocked it, and handed it straight to her.

Yvonne Lowell was taken aback for a moment. Taking the phone, she asked, "You’re just handing it to me like this? Aren’t you worried I’ll snoop?"

"Look if you want. I’ve got nothing to hide," Leo Grant said nonchalantly.

’Isn’t that his personal phone? Has he forgotten how much stuff he needs to hide on there?’

Hearing this, a smile played on Yvonne Lowell’s lips. She didn’t snoop, though; she just added his contact and saved his number before handing the phone back.

"Don’t you dare change the contact name I set, or I’ll beat you up," Yvonne Lowell said in a mock-threatening tone.

Leo Grant took his phone back and glanced down at the contact name she had entered: Baby.

’Baby?’ A strange flicker passed through Leo Grant’s eyes. ’It actually sounds pretty good.’

"Okay. You’re welcome to inspect it anytime." After speaking, Leo Grant silently mouthed the word, "Baby."

’Damn, why is this so cringey...’ Yvonne Lowell rubbed the non-existent goosebumps on her arms. "Mm, good boy."

The final bell rang, the school gates opened, and students swarmed out like a stampede.

In Class 3-2, a boy with a milky-gray wolf cut grabbed his backpack and started to leave.

"Hey, Adrian, wait for me!" Martin Crawford hurried to catch up, slinging an arm over his shoulder. "What’s the rush? It’s not like the driver is going to run off."

"The driver isn’t coming today." Adrian Lowell shrugged, shaking the hand off his shoulder.

Martin Crawford wasn’t annoyed. "Driver took the day off? Then just get a ride with me. It’s on the way, anyway."

"No need. My sister is picking me up. We’re going to Lowell Manor." Despite his deadpan expression, Adrian Lowell somehow managed to look like he was showing off.

Adrian Lowell didn’t actually have many memories of Yvonne Lowell. After all, she had been abducted when he was only two years old. He had never seen his sister again, but as he grew older, his memory of her never faded.

From a young age, his family had told him he had an older sister. They said that when she finally came home, he had to treat her well and dote on her, for she held the highest status in the entire Lowell Family. This had turned him into a closeted sis-con.

The house was filled with her photos, and every year, the family would gather to celebrate her birthday, even though the guest of honor was never present.

Just yesterday, he had been the one to first see Brother Harrison’s social media post and share it in the family group chat. Otherwise, they probably still wouldn’t have known their sister was back.

Martin Crawford was stunned. "Sister Yvonne?"

"Piss off, she’s *my* sister!"

"Tch, what’s there to be so smug about? You’re not the only one with a sister," Martin Crawford retorted, pursing his lips disdainfully.

’Wait a minute, I don’t actually have a sister! Crap, that one hurts...’

The two walked toward the school gate together. The moment they stepped out, they saw three people who practically glowed.

They were so ridiculously good-looking it was hard to ignore them.

’But why do they look so much like a family of three? A mom, a dad, and a poodle... all here to pick up their kid?’

Adrian Lowell’s puppy-dog eyes instantly lit up, and he ran forward.

"Adrian," Yvonne Lowell called out, waving to him.

Adrian Lowell stopped in front of her, his eyes slightly red-rimmed. He looked a little flustered as he said, "Sister! You’re finally back. We can finally stop celebrating your birthday when you aren’t here."

Yvonne Lowell froze at his words. ’They celebrated my birthday every year? No one ever told me that...’

She reached out and ruffled his hair. "I’m back. From now on, I’ll be here for every single birthday, including yours."

"Okay! You have to promise." Adrian Lowell hooked his pinky around hers to seal the deal.

Leo Grant glared at the offending finger. ’Tsk. How ugly,’ he thought.

The sight was so painful to watch that Nolan Crawford coughed pointedly to get his foolish cousin’s attention. "Ahem."

"Big Brother Grant, what are you doing here? And Cousin, is your throat bothering you?" Adrian Lowell asked, giving Nolan a strange look.

"Pfft, HAHAHAHAHA..." Martin Crawford couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.

Nolan Crawford shot him a glare. "Shut up! This has nothing to do with you."

"Ahem. Hi, Big Brother Grant. Hi, Sister Yvonne." After saying that, Martin Crawford zipped his lips.

Adrian Lowell glared at him. "*My* sister!"

"Alright, we’re heading off now," Yvonne Lowell said, her eyes on Leo Grant.

Leo Grant gave a slight nod. "See you tomorrow?"

"We’ll see. I’ll have to check my schedule," Yvonne Lowell said with a smile, pulling Adrian Lowell away.

Leo Grant remained standing there, watching her as she left.

"Stop staring, bro. She’s long gone." Nolan Crawford waved a hand in front of his face. "Tsk, tsk. Look at you. That gentle gaze of yours is enough to make a person drown."

Leo Grant slapped his hand away and started walking.

Nolan Crawford followed, leaving Martin Crawford standing there alone. ’What’s going on? Weren’t they here to pick me up? Then where’s my driver?!’

"What are you spacing out for? Get a move on!" Hearing his brother’s roar, Martin Crawford quickly scrambled to catch up.

Meanwhile, Yvonne Lowell shoved Adrian Lowell into the back seat and then took the front passenger seat for herself.

This left the three brothers staring at each other in mutual annoyance.

’The world is finally quiet.’

’Brothers truly are the most annoying creatures on earth!’

...

Back at Lowell Manor, Yvonne Lowell handed the gift to Adrian Lowell. Inside the large gift box were several out-of-production Lego sets—and all of them were massive ones, at that.

Yvonne Lowell herself was stunned. ’Aren’t these all Zachary Jacobs’s prized possessions?! He treasures them like they’re his wives!’

’And Nina Jennings just swiped the most valuable ones to give as a gift? What a great bestie!’

But when she saw how happy Adrian Lowell was, she didn’t have the heart to say anything.

’Oh well.’ She took out her phone and transferred fifty million to Zachary Jacobs for his "medical expenses." Her conscience didn’t prick her in the slightest.

[Zachary Jacobs: Lowell, did I do something wrong? Is this my severance package?!]

[Zachary Jacobs: I think I can redeem myself! Don’t write me off completely! Can’t I change?!]

[Zachary Jacobs: No, really, what did I do wrong?! At least let me die knowing the reason!!!]

[Yvonne Lowell: If it’s nothing important, don’t come back to the manor. Buy yourself something nice. If you want to blame someone, blame Nina Jennings.]

The short message completely baffled Zachary Jacobs. What had he done? Nina Jennings backstabbed him? He immediately called her.

When he learned the truth, he felt as if all hope and faith in his life were gone.

He had worked so damn hard to track those down! They were discontinued! They were his wives! The only true loves of his life!

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, so he called Yvonne Lowell again.

"Hello." Yvonne Lowell, who had been watching TV in the living room with Grandma Lowell, picked up her phone and stepped aside to take the call.

"Lowell! Dad Lowell! Those were my wives! How could you just give them away?!"

Yvonne Lowell frowned, instinctively holding the phone a little farther from her ear. "Nina Jennings gave them to me; I had no idea. Besides, he’s just a kid. Why are you picking a fight with a child?"

"A kid? He’s seventeen and I’m eighteen! To be precise, I’m only three months older than him! I’m still a kid, too!" Zachary Jacobs’s roar echoed from the phone.

"And that’s why I sent you money for your medical expenses, isn’t it?"

"Is this about money?! That was the love of my life!"

"I’ll add another fifty million."

"Ahem... It’s really not about the money, I..."

"From now on, I’ll reimburse you for any of those things you buy, alright? Don’t push your luck, or you can give that fifty million back to me."

"You got it! Lowell, you’re the best, you’re like my second parents! Love ya, mwah!"

"Just remember to buy two of everything from now on. That’s all. Hanging up."

Zachary Jacobs stared at the disconnected call, puzzled. ’Why do I get the feeling that Lowell was only so accommodating so she could buy Legos for her little brother? Was I just an afterthought?’

’Oh, well. I still managed to tearfully "earn" over ninety million out of this. I’m content, hehehe. Time to go Lego shopping~’
