"During that time, familiarize yourselves with your new Talent and prepare to meet your partner."

He continued,

"Now, say the word Cosmic Sheet out loud."

The five students nodded.

"Cosmic Sheet."

A transparent screen immediately appeared in front of each of them.

Excited expressions appeared on their faces as they quickly looked over their information.

The audience couldn’t see anything.

The City Lord explained,

"By default, everyone’s Cosmic Sheet is set to Private Mode."

"Only the owner can view it."

"You may change the privacy settings later if you wish to share it with your family, teammates, or guild."

He raised his own hand.

A transparent screen appeared before him as well.

Most of its contents were blurred, with only a few basic details visible.

"This is what others will see unless you choose to reveal more."

The students nodded in understanding.

The City Lord continued his explanation.

"After your beast hatches, you will receive your first Beast Skill."

"The exact skill depends on the species of the beast you have bonded with."

"As your companion grows stronger and evolves, it will awaken additional Beast Skills."

"At the same time, Cosmic will create compatible Human Skills based on your partner’s abilities."

"These Human Skills can be learned and used by you directly."

"The stronger your bond becomes, the more abilities the two of you will unlock together."

After speaking few more details, the City Lord dismissed the first group.

The five newly awakened students happily returned to their seats.

The ceremony continued.

Group after group walked onto the stage.

Some students smiled after seeing their Talents.

Others looked disappointed.

Before long, another five names were called.

"Kaiser Storm."

"Alexander Keynes."

"Alicia Hart."

"Roy Magnus"

"Dave Garden"

The three friends looked at one another before standing up together.

Taking a deep breath, Kaiser tightened his grip on the Light-element Beast Egg.

Then the five of them walked onto the stage.

Following the City Lord’s instructions, they stood around the Bonding Heart.

Kaiser held the Beast Egg with both hands before placing one hand on the crystal orb.

A warm energy immediately flowed into his body.

The rainbow light from the Bonding Heart surrounded all five students.

Kaiser felt the Beast Egg become lighter.

A moment later, it dissolved into countless golden particles that entered his chest.

The warm feeling spread throughout his entire body.

Then it slowly disappeared.

Kaiser opened his eyes.

The Bonding was complete.

The City Lord looked at the five students and nodded.

"Congratulations. You have all awakened successfully."

The five students bowed politely.

"Thank you, City Lord."

They stepped down from the stage and returned to their seats.

The moment they sat down, Alex could no longer hold back his curiosity.

"Alright."

"Let’s see what everyone awakened."

The others nodded.

"Cosmic Sheet."

Three transparent screens appeared in front of them.

Since they had not changed their privacy settings, only they could see their own Cosmic Sheets.

None of them minded.

After all, most people preferred to keep their status private until they fully understood their Talent.

Kaiser looked at his Cosmic Sheet.

His eyes widened.

He froze.

Then he looked further down the screen.

He froze again.

Holy fuck...

Truck-kun, I love you!!!

He screamed in his mind.

On the outside, however, his face remained completely expressionless.

He was so shocked that he couldn’t even react properly.

From the corner of their eyes, Alex and Alicia noticed his stiff expression.

The two exchanged a glance.

They immediately assumed the worst.

They thought Kaiser had awakened a weak Talent.

Neither of them said anything, deciding to give him some space.

Meanwhile, Kaiser continued staring at his Cosmic Sheet.

He even rubbed his eyes before looking again.

The words remained exactly the same.

The highest Talent rank ever recorded.

His breathing became slightly faster.

Then his gaze moved to the Bond section again.

Golden Fate Goblin King.

He knew exactly what kind of creature it was.

It was an extremely rare fortune-type goblin.

According to legend, finding one was equivalent to discovering a mountain of treasure.

Golden Fate Goblins possessed an incredible affinity for wealth, rare resources, and hidden treasures. Their kings were even rarer, capable of sensing fortune itself.

The problem was...

Such creatures should never appear inside free Beast Eggs.

The kingdom had clearly stated that all the eggs available today only contained beasts with Rank 1 to Rank 3 potential.

Yet somehow...

He had bonded with a Rank 8 Golden Fate Goblin King.

This is a cruel world. If anyone finds out I somehow obtained a Rank 8 beast from a free Beast Egg, I’ll either become a research subject or end up working as someone’s slave.

After taking a few deep breaths, Kaiser finally calmed himself and closed his Cosmic Sheet.

"I awakened a Repair Talent," he said with a helpless smile. "What about you guys?"

It wasn’t exactly a lie.

Reconstruction was, in essence, an advanced form of repair.

The only thing he left out was the fact that it was an SSS-Rank Talent.

Until he fully understood what it could do, he planned to keep it a secret.

"That’s still a decent Talent," Alicia said reassuringly.

"The Awakeners Association employs plenty of restoration specialists. They repair magical equipment, artifacts, and even damaged dungeon relics. They earn quite a lot."

Alex nodded in agreement.

"Exactly. A Talent isn’t everything. What about your beast?"

"My Cosmic Sheet says it’s a Light Gnome."
