Roderic’s finger pressed down firmly on the blue window.

The moment it did, the screen rippled as it lit up in a golden color.

A second later, another window appeared.

[Please remain still.]

"Hm?"

Roderic barely had time to process the text on the screen.

A strange warmth spread through his chest, immediately making him look down.

It wasn’t uncomfortable at all, though.

As it spread through his entire body, he closed his eyes, feeling like he was getting a massage.

’’Oh,’’ he muttered, relaxing completely. ’’That hits the spot!’’

He felt something slowly changing inside of him.

Each breath he took made the air entering his lungs feel unbelievably fresh.

Compared to before, it felt like he’d spent his entire life breathing through a damp cloth!

But before he could think any further, the heat suddenly started increasing.

Suddenly, a foul stench entered his nose.

The thick, sticky black substance continued pouring from every pore in his body, carrying with it an absolutely revolting stench.

’Please,’ he prayed. ’Let it just end after the impurities are gone!’

He froze mid-prayer.

A sharp pain suddenly exploded through his back.

Every bone in his body began breaking.

Roderic rolled off his bed and crashed onto the wooden floor.

His fingers dug deep into the floorboards as his bones began shifting.

And his body welcomed it without resistance!

Roderic’s eyes widened, clearly feeling something taking shape.

The pressure on his chest kept growing stronger.

Finally, a faint cracking sound echoed from somewhere inside his body.

The violent aura instantly settled down, flowing obediently to some strange pattern before circulating back through his body.

Only then did Roderic realize what had happened.

’A seal?’ he thought, his mouth wide open. ’I actually formed my first aura seal?!’

The exhaustion from before completely disappeared.

It almost felt refreshing, as if every cell inside his body was truly alive.

Roderic slowly pushed himself off the floor, his heart still pounding rapidly.

He stared down at both hands.

Then slowly clenched them.

The aura circulating throughout his body instantly responded.

A sharp tingling sensation spread through his chest for a moment.

He quickly pulled his torn shirt aside.

Lines of blue light suddenly appeared across his chest.

The countless lines rapidly connected together, forming an enormous pattern that covered nearly his entire chest.

Right after, a blue glowing aura began appearing around both his fists.

An indescribable feeling of power coursed through his body.

It almost felt as though he could punch straight through the stone wall beside him.

’Wait...’ he thought, his eyes narrowing. ’Could I?’

Without wasting any time, he walked over to the front wall.

He pulled back his arm slightly.

Then swung it toward the stone wall with all his might.

BOOM!

His fist smashed straight through the wall, sending chunks of rock and clouds of dust flying everywhere.

For a brief moment, Roderic simply stood there.

The grin on his face only grew wider.

’So this is what becoming a knight feels like...’

He couldn’t help but laugh.

"This is incredible!"

The laughter immediately stopped.

Roderic blinked once before slowly turning to the dinner plate-sized hole he’d just made.

A familiar face stared at him through the dust.

’’Father?’’ Roderic said slowly.

The father and son locked eyes in complete silence.

For a moment, Arthur’s face disappeared from behind the hole.

BANG!

His bedroom door burst open.

Arthur stormed into the room, fury written all over his face.

"What in the world has possessed you today?! Your fiancée, your brother, and now you’re even destroyin—"

His voice suddenly stopped.

A strange expression crossed Arthur’s face, his nose twitching.

Arthur’s brows slowly furrowed.

He took in another breath.

Immediately, his face turned green with disgust.

’’By the heavens...’’

He staggered back a step before clamping a hand over his nose.

’’What is that smell?!’’

Only then did his gaze properly land on Roderic.

The thick black sludge still covered nearly every inch of his body, slowly dripping onto the wooden floor.

Arthur’s expression twisted into one of pure disgust.

’’Go wash up right now!’’ he shouted. ’’You smell like a fucking swamp beast!’’

Roderic stared at him in confusion, unsure why Arthur was reacting so strongly.

Only then did he realize he’d grown used to the disgusting smell.

"Once you’ve washed up, meet me in my study," Arthur said, waving him away with visible disgust.

Muttering a string of curses under his breath, he turned and strode out of the room.

BANG!

The door slammed shut behind him.
