Chapter 12: 12: Crazy Moves!
’’Argh!’’
His entire body stiffened as he clutched his head.
It felt as though someone had driven a burning iron rod straight through his skull.
Everything around him slowly began to vanish, completely swallowed by darkness.
’What is happening?’ Roderic thought, forcing himself to stay calm.
Suddenly, strange glowing words appeared in the void.
’’First Move: Weapon Breaker.’’
Before he could think about the words, a glowing figure suddenly materialized, wielding a pair of strange, yet familiar, hooked swords.
Only a moment later, a longsword materialized in front of the figure.
It immediately swung downward in a perfect, vertical strike.
The figure responded instantly, raising both hooked swords in front of him.
Clang!
The longsword slammed straight between the hooks.
Roderic’s eyes widened slightly.
The figure twisted both swords, trapping the longsword between the hooks.
Blue aura surged across the hooked blades a moment later.
CRACK!
With a single pull, the longsword shattered into countless pieces.
’’Whoa...’’ Roderic mumbled quietly, his eyes still wide. ’’So this is an example place...’’
Suddenly, the figures shattered into tiny white motes.
Only a moment later, the tiny motes came back together, forming a new set of words.
’’Second Move: Dragon’s Fang.’’
Another figure materialized in the void, standing perfectly still with both hooked swords leisurely at his sides.
Rumble!
The void began to tremble, making Roderic take a step back in confusion.
Slowly, a large stone wall nearly ten meters tall erupted from the ground.
’An earth wall spell?’ Roderic thought, frowning. ’What is it going to do with that?’
A golden aura suddenly sparked to life around the figure’s blades.
It gathered along their slashing edges, compressing over and over again until the golden light became a murky mix of brown and yellow.
The figure slowly raised both blades.
Then, it slashed toward the wall with all its strength.
Whoosh!
That was all Roderic heard.
For a brief moment, nothing happened.
Then, two razor-thin lines appeared across the fortress-like wall in the shape of an X.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Three large stone chunks slid to the ground.
Roderic stared at the scene in utter disbelief.
’’What the fuck?’’ he said, taking a step back. ’’It cut straight through a stone wall?!’’
Even his elder brother, a Two-Seal Aura Knight, couldn’t do that!
Before he could fully recover from his shock, the glowing words appeared once more.
’’Second Move: Dragon’s Fang. Part Two.’’
The shattered pieces of stone began floating through the air.
In an instant, the wall completely reformed itself as though it had never been cut.
The figure slowly lowered its blades once more.
This time, the golden aura didn’t gather along the edges.
Instead, it flowed toward the curved hook at the tip of one of the blades.
’He’s compressing it over and over,’ Roderic thought, his eyes locked on the figure.
As the aura finally settled into a familiar murky yellow, the figure took one step forward.
Then it swung the blade toward the stone wall.
BOOM!
The tip of the hook slammed straight into the center of the wall.
The entire wall caved inward in an instant, while the surrounding stone cracked like a spiderweb.
With a thunderous rumbling noise, the entire wall collapsed into a pile of rubble.
Roderic stood frozen in place.
’What the hell... did I buy?’ he thought, deeply shocked.
This was far stronger than any technique he’d ever seen.
’I highly doubt even the Royal Family has anything that can compare!’
But the demonstration was far from over.
Time and time again, new moves appeared, each more ridiculous and powerful than the last.
Hell, by the eighth move, Roderic truly didn’t know whether he was watching a technique or a natural disaster.
Finally, the last glowing words slowly appeared before him.
’’Final, Ninth Move: Twin Dragons Ascend.’’
The same white figure slowly stepped forward.
In front of him, a literal sea of thousands of figures appeared, each carrying their own weapon.
Roderic held his breath as the white figure slowly raised his hooked blades toward the sky.
An overwhelming pressure instantly appeared around him, making the void tremble.
Behind the figure, two colossal golden dragons slowly emerged, each coiling around one of the hooked blades.
Slowly, the figure lowered his weapons.
In front of him, thousands of armored warriors stood shoulder to shoulder, stretching far into the distance.
Without hesitation, the figure swung both blades forward.
CRAAAACK!!!
The twin dragons shot forward, spiraling around each other.
Everything they touched disintegrated without offering any resistance.
Just like that, a single line was carved straight through the army.
Thousands of soldiers disappeared in an instant, leaving behind nothing but a barren trail stretching far into the horizon.
The figure wasn’t done yet, though.
With one smooth motion, he swung both hooked blades back.
The twin dragons immediately turned, spiraling through the air before charging back across the battlefield.
CRAAAACK!!!
Just like before, they tore another path through the sea of soldiers, disintegrating everything in their wake.
Only after returning to the figure did the dragons finally dissipate, their aura flowing back into the hooked blades.
Roderic’s mouth hung wide open.
This was far beyond anything he’d expected.
’It’s... broken,’ he thought, holding back the urge to laugh at the ridiculousness. ’The system is fucking broken! And finally in a good way!’
Just then, the dark void around him began to crack.
One after another, the glowing figures shattered into countless motes of light.
The motes gradually drifted toward Roderic before disappearing into his forehead one by one.
An unbearable headache assaulted him once more.
’’Arghhh!’’
He tightly grabbed his head as endless information flooded into his mind.
It was every movement, every stance, even the way to circulate his aura.
They engraved themselves deep within his consciousness.
Several moments later, the pain finally began to subside.
Roderic slowly opened his eyes.
’’Haa... haa...’’
He found himself sitting against the massive tree once again.
Looking up through the branches, he saw the moon hanging high in the night sky.
A lot of time had seemingly passed.
His clothes were completely soaked with sweat, while his entire body felt as though it had been beaten black and blue.
Even so, a massive smile spread across his face.
’Worth every coin I spent!’ he thought, clenching his fist excitedly. ’Now I just need to train it!’
