Chapter 7: YOU LEAVE ME WITH NO OTHER OPTION

Seara was trembling with rage, but she held her anger back, since it wouldn’t give her any benefit. Moreover, she wanted to be far away from Javen. From everyone.

To be sent back to her bedroom was not a bad idea.

Therefore, without saying anything anymore, Seara turned around and then left the room. She walked toward her bedroom at the end of the corridor, far away from the main garden. This was the bedroom with the least pleasant view and the smallest one among the other bedrooms in Gamma’s quarter.

Seara was tired. She had not yet eaten anything since yesterday, and when she saw the clock, it was already evening again. It meant she had been sleeping in the dungeon for half a day. No wonder she was very hungry.

Even so, Seara dragged her drained body back to her bedroom and collapsed on the bed. She didn’t even change her wet clothes.

When she woke up again, she was burning with fever. She opened her eyes groggily, only to find Daven was sitting on the chair next to her bed.

"Seara." He started to speak, but hearing his voice alone already made her feel sick to her stomach.

"Leave me alone!" Seara screamed at him, but her voice came out hoarse.

Javen had told Daven that he would let him know when Seara finally calmed down enough to talk to him, but he was being impatient and decided to see her right away.

With Seara’s attempt to run away, he became a little bit paranoid when she was not within his sight. She could run and leave the pack without anyone knowing it if she saw a chance. After all, she almost succeeded on her first try.

Therefore, there was only one solution that crossed Daven’s mind.

"I know I am at fault here, and I am sorry for causing you pain. I am in pain too when I see you like this." Daven held Seara’s hand, and he could feel how her body was burning. "You are sick."

"Yeah, sick of you." Seara swatted his hand away and then pushed herself to sit down. She would have dragged him out of the room if she had had enough strength, but right now her head was spinning. Her wet dress had dried up, and the sky had turned brighter.

"It is not normal for a shifter to have a fever; I will ask a healer to check on you." Daven ignored the disrespect that Seara showed him.

He was remorseful; therefore, an insult would be fine with him as long as Seara didn’t try to run away from him.

"What do you want, Daven? Say what you want and get out of the room." Seara only wanted this to get over with quickly. She didn’t want him to be around any longer.

"I will call for a healer..."

Seara immediately cut him off. "If you will not talk, then I will leave." She remembered there was a guest room not far from her room.

"Fine. I will talk." Daven relented; then he didn’t beat around the bush. "I have thought about this carefully, and I figure there is only one solution to fix everything."

Seara raised her brows at Daven. She wondered what kind of magical solution could fix their situation because Seara couldn’t even think of one that was close enough for her to forgive him.

And when Seara didn’t say anything, Daven took that as a cue for him to elaborate on the solution that he had thought about.

"The reason why I could be tempted is that the bond between us is not strong enough, since we have not yet completed the ceremony for the mating and the marking. Once you bear my mark, I know that I will never see another woman aside from you."

Seara was speechless. Was that the brilliant solution that Daven could come up with? "What makes you think I want to bear your mark after what you have done?" She threw a disgusting look at Daven, which hurt the Alpha’s ego. No one had ever looked at him that way before.

"Seara, you are still angry, but if you think the solution for this is to end the bond between us, then you hope for the impossible, because I will not let you go."

"Go to hell, Daven," Seara hissed viciously.

"Seara, you offered no solution. It already happened, and I regretted it, but we need to move forward. We can’t change what has been done, but we can fix it."

"And in your logic, by marking me? So, I’m stuck with you for the rest of my life?" The thought of it made Seara shudder. She would prefer to endure the pain of the severed mate bond rather than be with Daven.

"You are my destined mate; we are fated to be together for the rest of our lives."

"That’s why the rejection exists, because I don’t want to spend even a second with you, Daven. You and Eudora deserve each other, just like what other people said, so leave me alone."

Daven narrowed his eyes and then sighed; he seemed to interpret Seara’s statement wrongly. "So, that’s the problem. You are also upset because people are still comparing you with Eudora."

Seara wanted to claw Daven’s head off; probably, that way he would stop making a wild assumption.

"Once you have my mark, no one will compare you with Eudora anymore, Seara." Daven then leaned over, and he climbed into the bed.

"What are you doing?! Get off me!" Seara snapped angrily. She slapped Daven across his face, but this only made the Alpha even more aggressive with his advance.

"Stop being difficult, Seara! What do you want me to do? Do you want me to beg and kneel in front of you? That’s what you want?!"

Daven caught both of Seara’s arms and brought them up on top of her head and held them with one hand.

"You leave me with no other option, Seara..."
