Chapter 35: I WANT YOU
Chapter 35: I WANT YOU
"I want Maisie and Caylin..." Seara lifted her head from Zade’s chest. "But I want you too."
Maisie and Caylin were the omegas whom Zade had handpicked to accommodate all of Seara’s needs. They were only a year older than her, so Seara would be able to see them as friends.
"You always have me, Love." Zade kissed her forehead. "But I really need to go this time and can’t take you with me. Do you want something when I return?"
Seara thought about it for a while, and she mumbled something incoherently before she decided what she wanted.
"I want you," she said, and this made Zade laugh.
"You will have me." Zade leaned over and kissed the corner of Seara’s lips briefly. She didn’t flinch or pull herself away, which meant she was comfortable enough with his touch.
However, Zade wouldn’t push her further.
"Sleep, Love." Zade hugged Seara a little bit tighter. She liked it when he squeezed her body like this, and she would let out a soft moan, which made Zade addicted to hearing that.
The next day, Seara woke up, but she couldn’t find Zade anywhere. Meanwhile, out there, the sun was shining brightly. It seemed she had been sleeping for too long, and she missed seeing Zade before he left.
She was a little sad about that fact.
However, on the small desk beside her bed, she saw a letter. Zade wrote to her because he didn’t want to wake her up. In the letter, there was a brief sentence reminding her that he would return in three days.
’I will be back in three days; don’t forget your meal and your medication, Love.’
And that was all that was written on the paper, but it was enough to bring a smile to her lips. Seara folded the letter carefully and kept it as if it were a treasure for her.
And when she walked to the bathroom to clean herself up, she saw another note that reminded her to put on her slippers when she entered the bathroom, just in case the floor was too slippery for her.
Seara took the note and folded it carefully too.
When Maisie entered the room, she handed Seara a new phone and then began to braid her hair the way Zade did it.
"King Zade says you only need to press number one to call him," Maisie informed her cheerfully, as if she were the one receiving the phone.
"Thank you..." Seara said. She then tried it, and Zade picked it up in the first ring.
"Are you just waking up, Love?" Zade asked when he heard Seara’s timid voice.
"Uhm, yes... Maisie is doing my hair now," Seara said.
"Good. Have you eaten your breakfast?" Zade’s voice was so tender.
"No, but I will after this." Seara’s eyes lit up when Maisie put a yellow hairpin in her hair. "Maisie gives me a yellow hairpin."
"Do you like it?"
"Yes..."
Seara then talked some more, while Zade listened to her patiently without interrupting. She finally ended the call when it was time for her late breakfast.
"Is that your mate?" Altair asked as he sipped his drink. It was too early to get drunk, but as a Lycan, they were not so easily drunk; only a certain brand could give them some effect.
"Hmm," Zade replied. He put down his phone, and his expression turned serious again; it was a different sight from the tender one that he showed when he talked to Seara.
"Damn it, I can’t imagine that one day you are going to find your own destined mate." Altair clicked his tongue.
He was a pure-blooded Lycan like Zade and had the same electric blue eyes, though his skin was as pale as a ghost and he had short, curly blond hair.
"How does it feel to be able to find one after... how old are you? Five hundred? Six hundred?" Altair was slouching on the sofa in Zade’s office on the top floor. The view from up here was breathtaking, but none of them were interested.
Luxury was no longer appealing to them, which was understandable given their long lifespan.
"Sign this." Zade ignored Altair’s comment and handed him the document for him to sign, so the cancellation of the union between him and Chloe would be formalized.
However, Altair didn’t immediately sign the document. The fine for the cancellation was not cheap, but both of them knew it was only a number, something that they could earn back easily.
"Tell me, how does it feel to find your own mate?" Altair was genuinely curious, but Zade didn’t have time to indulge his curiosity.
"Sign it, or I will copy your signature and call it a day."
"That will be fraud."
"Sue me."
Altair sighed and then signed the paper. He watched as Zade stood up and was about to leave.
"Where are you going? In a hurry to see her?"
Zade said nothing; he didn’t even glance back when Altair called for him. The only instruction he gave his secretary was to see Altair out of his office and to notify him once Altair had left.
The meeting with Altair lasted only two hours, but he informed Seara that he would be away for three days. It was because he had to be somewhere else. There was another important thing he had to do.
"Is everything ready?" Zade asked. He loosened his tie and took off his suit when he entered the car, where Ace had been waiting for him.
"Yes." Ace looked at Zade through the rearview mirror, but he didn’t start the engine. "Zade, I know what you are going to do, but don’t... You can’t do it again. You know what will happen. Do you want to spend years stabilizing your beast like before? You will waste your time with Seara."
Ace had no other option but to bring Seara into the argument to make Zade reconsider his decision.
