Chapter 36: HE WILL NOT DIE

Seara had Maisie and Caylin to talk to, and they paid close attention to her. In the afternoon, Jane would come.

The woman was kind; she asked Seara to draw this time while asking a few questions. She would stop asking and change the subject when Seara was uncomfortable answering some questions.

Seara thought she liked them, but she still missed Zade.

Once her session with Jane was done, Seara went to bed; she was too mentally exhausted to talk to Maisie or Caylin.

"I want to sleep," Seara mumbled and then went to bed. Maisie and Caylin said something, but she didn’t really listen to what they were saying.

However, before Seara closed her eyes, she saw Caylin pick something up from the single sofa near her bed, where Zade was usually sitting.

It was the jacket that he was wearing the day before he left.

"No! Give me that!" Seara lunged toward Caylin and snatched the jacket from her hand.

The omega was taken aback when Seara came to her all of a sudden. "Oh, I’m sorry; I didn’t know," she said, tugging at her long black hair. However, Seara was no longer paying attention to her; she simply put on the jacket and curled up on the bed.

"I think it’s fine," Maisie said. She gestured for Caylin to leave the room.

And with that, Seara slept with Zade’s jacket. It smelled like him, and the scent eased her nerves slightly. She missed him.

"Zade, don’t. Do you want to waste your time with Seara to deal with your beast again, like before?" Ace followed Zade; he had been trying to talk him down, but Zade didn’t show any sign that he was going to reconsider his decision to come to the Blackthorne Pack.

In fact, they just landed in the city near the pack, and it would take two hours by car to reach the Blackthorne Pack. After that, Ace didn’t know what Zade would do. He had not yet told him anything.

"Zade, you just got better now, and it took you almost a hundred years; do you want to waste your time? As far as we know, Seara is a werewolf even though she has lost her wolf spirit, and their lifespan is not as long as ours."

Ace was not a pure-blooded Lycan, but the Lycan blood in him still granted him an immortal life. However, a half-breed like him was rare. Therefore, you could only imagine the situation with the pure-blooded Lycans.

"Zade." Ace was frustrated; he scratched his head and grabbed Zade by his elbow to stop him from walking away.

"He will not die." Zade yanked his hand away from Ace’s grip and continued walking.

But that was not good enough. Not killing Daven was not the same as dropping this matter. Zade had a thousand ways to torture someone until they wished for death instead, and the Lycan had seven hundred years of experience to know which one hurt the most.

"Call for a meeting with that Alpha," Zade said as both of them entered the car that would take them to the Blackthorne Pack.

"Huh?" Ace frowned; he sat down next to Zade. "Do you want to arrange a meeting with him?"

"Don’t you expect me to be civil with him?" Zade was not going to trespass on their territory again this time; he was going to come properly.

Ace was not convinced it was a good idea, but what else could he do? At least it would be a meeting, right? Not a straight attack.

Seara woke up when the sun was almost set. She stared at her surroundings, looking for Zade, only to remember that he would come two days later.

She felt awful. She wanted him close, but at the same time, she reminded herself not to be so clingy, because it would annoy him.

"But what if he went to see her?" Seara sat up straight and reached for her phone to call Zade. He answered on the first ring.

"What is it, Love?" Zade asked when Seara didn’t say anything; his voice was as gentle as usual.

"You are not with Chloe, right?" Seara finally spoke. Her voice was small, mumbling the words, as if she were not sure she wanted to know the answer.

"No, of course not. I am in the middle of a meeting. There is no woman here." Zade chuckled lightly at the question. He sounded happy, joyful even.

"Oh... alright. I will call you again... or not."

"You can call me anytime. Everything is alright there?"

"Yes."

Seara then cut off the phone call all of a sudden. Zade was in the middle of a meeting, so she didn’t want to interrupt, even though she wanted to call him again.

Her mind was a jumbled mess. She hugged herself and sniffed the jacket she was wearing, and thankfully, Zade’s scent calmed her down a bit.

For a long moment, Seara stayed like that. She didn’t turn on the light even when the sky grew dark. She was not afraid of darkness; she was used to being in the dark for so long that it didn’t bother her.

If anything, it was comfortable.

Seara only moved away when her stomach was churning. She was hungry, so she decided to go out of the room to find something to eat.

Silence greeted her. Maisie and Caylin were nowhere around the house. Probably they had something else to do, so Seara went to the kitchen and found some dishes on the table. They were still warm.

"I am hungry... I want to eat," she mumbled to herself. Being left alone for three years made Seara have only herself to talk to, so she would often talk to herself.

However, before she could get an empty plate, she saw a black shadow from the kitchen window and something scratched on the glass.

Seara took a few steps back, and the sound was getting louder.
