Chapter 30: HE IS GOING TO LEAVE ME
"Don’t touch him! Don’t touch him! He is mine!" Seara rained punches on Chloe.
However, she didn’t notice that Chloe was about to shift into her wolf form, and it would be a disaster for Seara. The injuries could be fatal, especially when Seara couldn’t fight a shifter and heal herself.
Seeing this, Zade immediately yanked Seara out of Chloe’s reach and shielded her. At the same time, Ace had shifted into his wolf form and pinned Chloe down so she wouldn’t be able to charge toward Seara.
Zade’s grip on Seara was like a handcuff; he didn’t let her go as he put her behind his back and watched Ace tame Chloe.
"She punched me!" Chloe said angrily as she held both of her cheeks and glared at Seara. The royal beta managed to force her back into her human form.
"You are fine," Ace said, because Chloe’s bruises had healed completely now.
"I am not fine! My pride hurts!" Chloe protested; she became even more upset when Seara hugged Zade tightly and threw her a dirty look. This mutt!
"Enough!" Zade snapped angrily. "Leave!"
Chloe was startled when Zade raised his voice at her, but even in her annoyance, she knew better than to push her luck and insisted on staying.
Therefore, with a huff and puff, she turned around and left, leaving behind a trail of complaints, while Ace followed her to make sure she was out of the residence.
And once the two of them were out of sight, Seara let go of Zade, and, to the Lycan’s surprise, she threw him a dagger-like glare.
"Are you angry?" Zade smiled softly. He leaned his body down and cupped her cheeks, but Seara shook her head and took a step back.
"I am not angry."
"Then why do you look so mad at me?" Zade stretched out his hand, but Seara swatted it away.
"I am not angry!" This time, Seara screamed and attacked Zade. She hit him and clawed at every part of his body that she could reach.
But to her surprise, Zade didn’t do anything to stop her. He simply stood there and let her vent her anger. There was something that bothered her greatly.
Seara couldn’t recall what that was, but she remembered the feeling. It made her blood boil, and a few images flashed before her eyes.
She couldn’t say what those were, but they fueled the anger within her. It felt like a disease that spread in her body, clawing from inside.
Seara screamed and cried, and she hit Zade as hard as she could.
The pain gnawed in her heart, and she didn’t know how to get rid of it; thus, the only way for her to relieve the feeling was to inflict pain on Zade, so he would know that she was in agony too.
It didn’t make sense, and it was not right in any sense, but it was the only way Seara could do it.
Meanwhile, Zade didn’t do anything; he accepted the punches, and even when Seara clawed his face and drew blood, he didn’t flinch.
His mate was angry, and he could understand that Chloe’s presence had triggered something inside her, yet Seara couldn’t verbalize the feeling.
He thought Seara was alright. She looked fine when she talked about that sweet nurse, but now they were not even going back to square one; it was a withdrawal.
And finally, Seara snapped out of whatever state she was in and back to reality and realized that Zade was bleeding. Blood was trickling down from his cheek as the wound started to heal.
"Oh, no... He is going to be mad at me. He is going to leave me... No. No. I don’t want him to leave... What should I do?"
Seara fell to her knees, clutched her head, and started to pull her hair.
"I am sorry, I am sorry... He is going to leave me... He is going to leave me... I don’t want the cell. I don’t like the cell." And now, Seara started to hit herself.
Zade immediately held both of her arms.
"I am not going to leave you," Zade said with a frown. It was difficult for him to hold her back without hurting her, and the thing was that Seara couldn’t heal herself if he did. He could accidentally break her bones if she kept struggling like this. "Calm down, Seara. I will not put you in the cell. I will not leave you. Calm down."
However, Seara was having a breakdown now; she thrashed her body and fought Zade. She was panicked when Zade held her down, but he couldn’t let her go either, since she would hurt herself.
"Seara!"
Zade gritted his teeth when he had to pin her down, using his weight to keep her in place. He brought both of her arms on top of her head and held them with one hand as he tried to soothe her by caressing her cheek.
"Seara. I am not going to leave you," Zade said, repeating the words over and over again. He was in pain, but it was not caused by Seara. "I am not going to leave you. I will die before I leave you."
Suddenly, Seara stopped thrashing her body, and she fixed her eyes on Zade. She was crying, and her hair was disheveled, but her hazel eyes were bright with anguish and resentment.
"Liar..." She said in a low voice, but then it shifted into a high-pitched sound as she fought Zade again. "Liar! Liar! LIAR!"
Seara found a new strength, and Zade had to use more to hold her down, too, to the point he could hear the bone cracking in her wrist.
"Enough, Seara!" Zade raised his voice. He snapped at her harshly because if it kept going, he might break more of her bones.
For a moment, Seara stopped; she looked surprised, but then she bit Zade’s arm. Her teeth were embedded in his flesh.
