Chapter 2: I DON’T RESPECT A CHEATER
How long had their affair been going on?
Seara didn’t know. She didn’t want to think, and when her body was exhausted and she had no more tears to shed, her eyes closed.
She fell asleep on the dirty ground of this quiet forest. She could be attacked by a wild animal, but that was the least of her concerns right now.
Meanwhile, back in the pack house, Daven had asked a few of his warriors to look for Seara, but they couldn’t find her.
Daven called Neriah and Eira, the only two friends that Seara had, but they didn’t have any idea where she was.
"I have not seen her since yesterday, Alpha," Neriah said through the phone when Daven called her. The Alpha’s call rather startled her.
"I will let you know if I see her, Alpha," Eira promised when Daven contacted her.
Daven was pacing back and forth in his bedroom. He stared at his phone, and aside from Neriah and Eira, he didn’t know anyone else who was close to Seara. She was not really good with social settings; thus, she didn’t have many friends.
"Calm down, Daven. She will return." Eudora tried to appease Daven’s anxiety. She went behind him and was about to massage his shoulders, but he swatted her hands away.
"It is better for you to leave, Eudora. I don’t want Seara to become more upset to see you here." Daven was very restless. He couldn’t rest until he knew Seara was fine. No one had seen her. Where the hell had she gone?
Daven realized that he had messed up big time. He had to find a way to fix this, but he couldn’t do it if Seara were not here.
"No, it’s my mistake too. Don’t take the blame on your own." Eudora shook her head regretfully when Daven chased her out again. "I have to apologize to her."
"This is not the right time for you to talk to her."
However, Eudora disagreed with him. "She is still too young. How old is she? Eighteen? She is still a teenager and a hot-headed one. She needs to understand that adults sometimes make mistakes and it is important to forgive and let go."
Daven didn’t know what to say; he was not in his right mind to argue, since he was busy mind-linking all the warriors around the pack to look for his mate. He called a few warriors at the borders that he couldn’t reach through mindlink as well.
But still, there was no progress.
On the other hand, Eudora was not happy when Daven ignored her. She narrowed her eyes, but because she was standing behind Daven, the Alpha couldn’t see her.

When the morning came, Daven felt as if he were going crazy, but thankfully, one of his warriors spotted Seara. She was in her beast form, walking toward the pack house.
She finally came home.
Relief washed over Daven’s body.
"Damn it, Seara..." Daven rubbed his face roughly, and his movement woke Eudora up. She was sleeping on his bed to accompany him throughout the night but fell asleep at some point.
"What is it?" Eudora sat down and stared at Daven with sleepy eyes.
"Seara is here; leave the room now. I don’t want her to misunderstand the situation again," Daven said, and then went out of the room to meet Seara.
Daven hastened his steps, and when he opened the door, he saw Seara as she shifted into her human skin. Her long, curly hair was slightly disheveled, and her auburn hair was ablaze under the light of the sun.
He loved the sight of it and was always complimented on the color.
However, her hazel eyes were red; she had been crying.
"Seara, where have you been?! You make me worried sick!" Daven immediately approached his mate with open arms. He wanted to hold her, but the look in her eyes made him stop.
"Don’t touch me." Seara glared past Daven, and when he followed her line of sight, he found Eudora standing at the door behind him.
Daven was pissed because he had told Eudora to leave, but what was she doing here?
"What is that whore doing here?!" Seara snapped. She had never raised her voice before this, but her anger made her see red, and the sight of Eudora was not a pleasant one either.
It was not her proudest moment, but she couldn’t help it. She felt her beast was enraged by the sight of that woman. She had this sudden urge to shift and claw the small smile off Eudora’s lips.
"Seara!" Daven was shocked when he heard Seara use such a word.
Seara used to be very kind and gentle; she was not the type who would curse at others.
However, at a moment like this, who could blame her? Seara was in agony, and Daven couldn’t understand that.
"That’s uncalled for! We can talk about this inside calmly." Daven tried to de-escalate the situation. He glanced over his shoulder and watched Eudora, who was about to cry because of the way Seara disrespected her. "We can talk together about what happened calmly."
"I don’t want to breathe the same air as her." Seara glared at Daven for even suggesting that.
"I am older than you; you shouldn’t show disrespect toward me. Why are you being so cruel? The way you call me is so disrespectful." Tears welled up in Eudora’s eyes. "You will be the future luna of the pack; you need to grow up. Instead of running away, you have to talk it through like an adult. Do you even know how worried Daven was last night?"
Seara was livid; what Eudora said clearly indicated that she had been here with Daven the entire night.
"It’s so rich coming from you to talk about respect. I don’t respect a cheater, and you are one. So, figure that out!"
"That’s enough!" Daven had to calm Seara first, and it wouldn’t happen if Eudora were around. "Eudora, you can leave now!"
