Chapter 17: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR HER TO HAVE ANOTHER MATE
Zephyr and Ace still couldn’t believe what they heard; both of them turned their heads around to look at Zade and the woman in his arms, as if they could have heard him wrongly.
"You are kidding me, right? Your mate? Are you sure?" Zephyr bombarded Zade with a lot of questions. Fortunately, the car stopped at the red light; otherwise, they might have been in a car accident.
However, seeing the way Zade reacted and how adamant he was about taking this woman away from the Blackthorne Pack clarified everything.
"Damn..." Zephyr clicked his tongue. "After how many hundred years is it? You finally found your mate? I thought you would never find anyone. Ah!" Zephyr glared at Ace when he smacked the back of his head in response to the comment.
The three of them might look as if they were in their early thirties, but they had lived for over five hundred years.
As Lycans, the way they aged slowed down immensely once they reached seventeen years old, and it had been so long since they reached that age. They couldn’t even remember how many eras they had lived in.
"I think we need to get her to the hospital immediately," Ace said. He was a beta for a reason; he could read the situation well even without Zade saying anything.
"Got it." Zephyr floored the accelerator once the light turned green.

They couldn’t go to just any hospital, since they couldn’t let a human doctor check on them. It would expose their existence.
Therefore, the nearby hospital that they could visit was an hour away, and by the time they got there, Zade looked as if he were about to murder someone.
"Make an arrangement to transfer her to the hospital in Wvern City. Get Rio to see the transfer personally." Zade was in a foul mood, and Ace was on high alert, just in case he was going to lose it.
Rio was a werewolf doctor who worked for the Lycans. He came from a family of doctors spanning generations, and the Wvern Hospital was the largest hospital in the city, located in the Lycans’ domain.
However, it would take a day and a night to get there by car. It would be faster if they took a plane, so Zade instructed Ace to arrange for that too.
Unfortunately, judging from Seara’s current condition, they couldn’t move her there right away. She needed immediate treatment.
"Figure out everything about her in that pack." Zade shifted his attention to Zephyr. "Everything. I want the report right away."
Zephyr was slightly taken aback by the pressure from him. Zade rarely used his commanding voice on him, but he did it without realizing it because he was holding back his rage.
He would have stormed the Blackthorne Pack now, but he couldn’t leave his mate alone. He didn’t trust anyone with her, not even his beta and gamma.
Not because they would harm her—they wouldn’t dare—but it was more for his own sanity. He needed her to be within his sight.
"Zade..." Ace started, but Zade cut him off.
"Don’t." Zade shifted his sharp gaze to him, and it shut him up.
Ace only wanted to warn Zade not to lose control. He had still recovered from what happened a hundred years ago when he razed an entire pack, but he could see this was not a good time for a warning.
He hoped the medical report wouldn’t be so bad because it could be a nightmare. Until now, Ace and Zephyr couldn’t see her clearly.
Caroline was currently inside; she was a shifter and a doctor at the small town’s hospital, while Zade and the others were right outside the door.
"What are you waiting for? A new year?" Zade glanced at Zephyr, who was still there after he received his assignment.
Zephyr wanted to stay for a while because he was curious about the woman who turned out to be Zade’s destined mate, but Zade would eat him alive if he delayed his order.
"Okay, I am going. I am going." Zephyr immediately left before Zade lost it on him.
On the other hand, Ace started working on the hospital transfer; he contacted Rio directly and made the arrangement.
But right at that time, they could hear a commotion from inside the room, and in the blink of an eye, Zade rushed in.

"What are you so worried about?" Eudora hugged Daven from behind. She kissed his nape and tried to make him relax.
She had heard what had happened with Seara and the fact that the Lycan had taken her away. Damn, she thought that girl had died; she had stopped thinking about her a long time ago.
"You don’t understand, Eudora," Daven said. He wriggled his way out of Eudora’s arms. He had been feeling restless ever since his encounter with the Lycan king.
This was the first time he saw him in person, but of course, every shifter knew who he was and what he had done a hundred years ago. The story still sent shivers down everyone’s spine when they heard that.
"What I don’t understand?" Eudora furrowed her brows; she didn’t like it when Daven thought about that bitch.
It happened in the first year Seara was locked away. Only after that did Daven seem to forget about her, but now Seara occupied his mind again.
"There is something about the way the Lycan looked at her..." Daven squinted his eyes, trying to remember. "It was almost like a possession."
Eudora raised her brows. "What? You think Seara is the Lycan’s mate?"
"He wouldn’t have stared at her or even known her existence if he were not." Daven balled his fists; he felt enraged at the thought.
"That’s not possible. Just like you said, you still thought about her because she had lost her wolf spirit before the bond could break, so it’s not possible for her to have another mate."
