Chapter 37: Level 11

Chapter 37: Level 11

When Enzo thought it was all over and that the eagle would inevitably escape—since it only needed an instant to soar to a safe altitude—he suddenly saw a crimson magic circle appear directly above it, releasing a tremendous downward pressure that clearly intensified gravity.

As a result, the moment the eagle tried to leap into the air, its body seemed to be burdened by an enormous weight, making it nearly impossible for it to fly.

This wasn’t a random attack. It had been carefully planned. Enzo guessed the attackers had been hiding beneath the dense trees or thick vines, which was why he hadn’t noticed them.

A strange expression appeared on his face.

The Mana Threads launched by Violet arrived first.

Not only had they been released earlier, but they were also much faster than the incoming fireball.

In an instant, Violet’s threads wrapped around the eagle, binding its wings shut and tying its legs together.

To her surprise, the eagle’s body was incredibly light and fragile.

Violet pulled it toward herself with ease.

The only thing making it difficult was the enhanced gravity, but even that wasn’t enough to overcome Violet’s strength.

The eagle was dragged straight toward her, and Violet didn’t wait for it to arrive.

She lunged forward, slashing her black dagger.

Ironically, the gravity spell ended up helping her.

Without it, the eagle might have escaped into the sky with its incredible reflexes before the Mana Threads could even reach it.

Shua!

The dagger sliced cleanly across the eagle’s neck.

Its head was severed instantly.

"Hmm..." Enzo couldn’t help but break into a broad smile.

He had finally leveled up.

The amount of EXP they gained exceeded his expectations.

More importantly, there was the SP.

One thousand SP.

It was an incredible amount.

He could roll the Gacha again and hope for another extraordinary reward.

Only then did he finally notice the two people who had also been targeting the eagle.

A handsome young man and a beautiful young woman, both seemingly around his age. Their hair was silver-white, and the woman’s short hair reached only to her neck.

Although they stood in different positions, they wore matching silver armor decorated with golden patterns.

The aura radiating from the armor made its quality obvious.

Shock and disbelief were written all over their faces as they stared at Violet.

The young man was the first to recover.

His expression immediately darkened with anger.

"How dare you!" he shouted, pointing at Violet.

"Why shouldn’t I?" Violet replied calmly.

Whenever he spoke through Violet, Enzo feared no one.

These two might possess extraordinary backgrounds, but Violet would never show fear.

"Fine! Take this!"

The young man threw a punch from afar.

A massive flaming fist shot toward Violet.

"Stop it, Bryan!"

The young woman suddenly released her gravity magic onto the flaming fist, pinning it in place until it could no longer move.

"Charlotte, she stole our target and didn’t even apologize. She needs to be taught a lesson!" Bryan growled, becoming even angrier.

He clearly couldn’t tolerate being offended by anyone.

"That’s because your strength is inferior to mine," Violet answered flatly.

The moment she finished speaking, she vanished.

She disappeared from sight and swiftly retreated.

There was no benefit in fighting them.

Their shock deepened when Violet disappeared without leaving the slightest trace.

She had vanished so completely that neither of them could detect her anymore.

"Where did she go?"

Bryan recklessly rushed toward the spot where Violet had disappeared.

"She’s the S-Class Assassin everyone’s been talking about—Violet Muller. You’d better not continue this conflict," Charlotte said as she walked over to him.

She was far more rational.

"An S-Class Assassin? You think I’m afraid of her?" Bryan scoffed.

"Weren’t you unable to detect her at all? If she suddenly stabbed you from behind, you’d really die," Charlotte replied.

Bryan unconsciously glanced over his shoulder.

"You’ll never have the advantage against an Assassin. Let’s go. It’s time to head back."

After saying that, the short-haired silver-haired woman turned and walked toward the Sanctuary.

Bryan seemed unable to come up with a response and could only follow behind her.

Meanwhile, Violet had already passed the tower and arrived at a rocky canal.

If followed downstream, it would eventually connect to the great river.

Enzo stopped her there.

With 1,050 SP in his possession, he couldn’t calm himself without spinning the Gacha.

The only thing he couldn’t decide was whether to use it on himself or on Violet.

He pondered for quite a while, lighting another cigarette to help himself think.

’Maybe... I’ll use it on myself.’

He was more interested in rolling for himself.

If it turned out to be an item, he could always give it to Violet. But if it was a skill, it might greatly expand the possibilities of his Gamer Talent.

"Spin it. One thousand SP."

He finally gave the command, using the Gacha on himself.

DING!

(You spent 1,000 System Points to spin the Gacha!)

[SP: 50]

The Gacha began to spin, and Enzo’s heartbeat quickened.

He couldn’t help feeling nervous.

DING!

(The Gacha spin is complete. You obtained the S-Class Skill: Game Master!)

(Game Master: A skill with versatile abilities. You can create characters other than humans—including Monsters and other races—and grant other people permission to control the characters you create!)
