"I’m fine, I’m fine... I’m just a little dizzy, that’s all," Raymond Ford said weakly.

Unlike Hailey Paige, Raymond Ford could actually act. Having been on the set for a while, she had also built a good rapport with the crew. Everyone found her easy to get along with, so when she spoke, they believed she was genuinely unwell.

"If you weren’t feeling well, why didn’t you tell me? Go on and get some rest."

"Director Wallace, I’m so sorry for holding everyone up."

"Thank you, everyone, for your concern," Raymond Ford said, and was then helped off to rest by Leah Young.

Melody Monroe realized that Raymond Ford really was popular; the people on set were genuinely concerned for her. ’Right now, her career is on the rise,’ she thought. ’And the book did mention that she’s destined to become an award-winning actress.’

"Hailey Paige, get ready."

Hailey Paige immediately walked over, while Melody Monroe went to rest on the sidelines.

Watching the busy set, Melody Monroe couldn’t help but think back to the book’s plot.

’The original Melody’s reputation was never very good. On top of that, she was always trying to find a sugar daddy to fast-track her success, so her private life was a mess. But that mess only started after she’d gained a little fame.’

’Thankfully, the original Melody had only slept with one man: Evan Fairchild.’

’Otherwise, I’d truly have no tears left to cry.’

Before long, Hailey Paige finished her scene.

"Director Wallace, for shots like this in the future, can’t we just use a double? That way, you won’t waste my time, and you won’t delay the production schedule."

"Miss Paige, are you some top influencer? An A-list star? So busy you need a double? Are you filming any other shows besides this one?" Director Wallace shot back.

Hailey Paige’s face flushed bright red.

"Director Wallace, please don’t be angry. That’s just how Vivian is—she’s naive! Please don’t hold it against her," Ryan Miller immediately interjected, stepping forward to apologize. He was fuming inwardly. ’She’s not naive, she’s an idiot!’

’If Hailey Paige were half as smart as Raymond Ford, my job wouldn’t be this difficult!’

Hearing what Hailey Paige said, Melody Monroe immediately ruled her out as a suspect.

’If the original Melody got injured and had to leave the production, Hailey Paige would seem like the biggest beneficiary. But that wasn’t actually the case.’

’Hailey Paige paid her way onto the cast. With such a huge investment, her main goal was to gain fame. If she had put that money into a different production, she might have even landed a lead role.’

’Raymond Ford was a different story. She and the original Melody were with the same agency and even shared the same manager. If the original Melody’s career took off, it would be the biggest blow to her.’

"Melody Monroe, you’re up," a crew member called as he walked over to her.

Melody Monroe snapped back to reality and walked toward the set.

Director Wallace had been on edge all day, but Melody Monroe’s professionalism helped calm him down a bit. "Next up are your solo scenes. It’s going to be a long haul, but let’s try to get them all done today. We’ll shoot the rest when Zane Langdon arrives."

"Okay," Melody Monroe nodded immediately.

The rest of the shoot went very smoothly, but by the time Melody Monroe left the film set, it was already past four in the morning.

She dragged her exhausted body back to the hotel and, without even showering, flopped onto the bed. After resting for a few minutes, she pulled out her phone and found the only messages she had were from Ian Monroe.

There was one from the morning, one from noon, and one from the evening.

"Good morning, Mommy."

"Good afternoon, Mommy."

"Good evening, Mommy."

Melody Monroe let out a chuckle. ’This little guy is so formal, checking in morning, noon, and night!’ He had sent three greetings that day, but not a single word more.
