The plane finally landed. As soon as they disembarked, Melody Monroe and Talia headed straight for baggage claim. Time was tight, and she had to hurry. After retrieving their luggage, the two of them walked toward the taxi stand outside.

There happened to be a trash can on the roadside. Melody Monroe stopped. "Hold on, I need to throw something away."

Talia turned around and saw Melody Monroe take a business card out of her bag.

"Do you have a pen?"

"Yes." Talia immediately pulled a marker from her purse and handed it to Melody Monroe.

’She thought Melody Monroe was going to sign an autograph for someone.’

Melody Monroe took the pen, scribbled out the name Evan Fairchild, blackened the string of numbers below it, and shoved it into the trash can.

"Let’s go."

A black luxury car was parked by the roadside. A man pushed open the door, fished the business card out of the trash can, his expression instantly becoming indescribable.

’President Fairchild’s business card... actually thrown in the trash!’

’This is a first!’

Evan Fairchild sat in the back seat. As the card was handed to him, he stared at it, his grip tightening.

The atmosphere in the car instantly grew tense. The two men in the front seats didn’t dare to make a sound.

"Drive!"

"CUT!" the director yelled, slamming the script in his hand onto the table.

An assistant immediately poured a glass of warm water and handed it to him. "Director Wallace, why don’t you take a break? We’ve been shooting for three hours straight. Let the actors relax a bit, too."

"Shooting one scene for three hours, and you want a break? The nerve! If you want to rest, go home and do it!"

Hailey Paige sat on the sofa, her face a mask of frustration. She’d been in the business for two or three years, but filming had never been this grueling! ’Over twenty takes in a row!’

"Do you know how to play a villain or not? You think just rolling your eyes and forcing a mocking smile is enough? Is that your interpretation of the character?"

"How else am I supposed to play her?" Hailey Paige retorted, her own temper flaring.

Director Wallace was notoriously strict—a workaholic who never minced words when berating someone. He’d made many actors cry. But, you had to admit, every one of his productions was a critical and commercial success.

"Director Wallace, our Vivian has been at this for three hours. She’s not at her best today. How about we move on to the next scene for now?"

"The next scene? Today’s schedule is all her. If we move on, won’t all this work be wasted? You think she’ll magically get it right if we push it to tomorrow?"

Hearing this, Hailey Paige was so furious she could have exploded.

Raymond Ford, who had already finished his scenes for the day, watched Hailey Paige with amusement dancing in his eyes.

’So what if she bought her way onto the production? None of that works on Director Wallace.’

When Melody Monroe and Talia arrived on set, they could hear Director Wallace roaring. Talia was a bit intimidated. "Melody, maybe we should wait a bit before we go over? Let’s wait until he’s finished his tirade."

"We’ll go over and wait, but we won’t interrupt him."

"Hey, isn’t that Melody Monroe? What’s she doing here?" someone on set recognized her.

Melody Monroe nodded in acknowledgment to the few people who were looking her way.

"I’m done! I’m not filming today!" Hailey Paige burst into tears of frustration. ’She’d never been so humiliated in her life!’

"Director..." Ronan Lewis began, looking completely helpless. ’He had to be the most beleaguered agent in the business.’

"Director Wallace, Director Lewis thinks very highly of this production. How about we increase the budget for promotions later? Another three to five million is a small matter for Director Lewis."
