Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Navigation Rights to Port M

Wendy Sutton rushed back into the room and pulled the soundly sleeping Charles Lowell up. "Charles, where’s Nola? Where has my Nola gone!?"

"Nola’s probably not up yet," Charles Lowell replied groggily.

"I went to her room and she wasn’t there! Nola’s gone, my Nola..." Wendy Sutton’s voice caught as she spoke.

Charles Lowell snapped wide awake. "How could that be? Did you check downstairs? Maybe she’s already awake."

"I... I didn’t. I got worried and came straight to you." Wendy Sutton, coming to her senses, turned and ran for the stairs.

Charles Lowell quickly grabbed her. "Don’t rush, you’ll fall. I’ll go down with you."

Meanwhile, Yvonne Lowell, who was already back from her morning run, passed by the dining room and saw Caleb Lowell drinking coffee while looking at his laptop.

’Tsk, tsk. Being a big-shot CEO isn’t as easy as it looks...’

"Morning, Brother."

Caleb Lowell looked up. "Morning, Nola. Did you go for a morning run? Why are you up so early?"

"Yeah, it’s my biological clock. I’m used to it." Yvonne Lowell sat down across from Caleb Lowell.

Nanny Warren came over. "Young Miss, what would you like for breakfast? We have both Chinese and Western style."

"Soy milk and youtiao will be fine. Thank you, Nanny Warren."

"You’re very welcome. It’ll be ready in a moment." Nanny Warren smiled and walked back to the kitchen. ’The Young Miss is so beautiful, and so sensible and polite.’

Just as Caleb Lowell was about to say something, he heard the sound of urgent footsteps from upstairs.

The siblings looked up to see their parents rushing downstairs in their pajamas.

They exchanged a glance and stood up at the same time, walking over.

The moment she saw Yvonne Lowell, Wendy Sutton’s heart instantly settled.

She threw her arms around Yvonne Lowell. "Nola, thank goodness, thank goodness. You’re still here."

"What’s wrong, Mom, Dad?" Yvonne Lowell looked at Charles Lowell, confused.

Charles Lowell had no choice but to explain helplessly, "Your mother went to your room and saw you weren’t there, so she got a little worried."

Yvonne Lowell didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She quickly comforted Wendy Sutton, "Mom, I’m just used to waking up early. I just got back from my run. Please don’t be scared. I’m here. I’m not going to leave."

"Mom’s not scared. As long as you’re here, that’s all that matters. As long as you’re here." Wendy Sutton patted her back intermittently.

Once Wendy Sutton had calmed down, Yvonne Lowell let her go. "Brother and I are about to have breakfast. Do you and Dad want to go back up and sleep a little longer?"

"No more sleeping. Your dad and I will go wash up. You go ahead and eat, don’t wait for us." After speaking, she pulled Charles Lowell upstairs, looking back every few steps.

Back at the dining table, Caleb Lowell explained, "Mom was just worried about you. Don’t take it to heart."

"How could I? I won’t overthink it, Brother, don’t worry." Yvonne Lowell shook her head and took a sip of soy milk.

Yvonne Lowell ate as quickly as ever. Just as she finished breakfast, Uncle Grant came in. "Young Miss, there’s someone outside looking for you. He says he’s here to deliver something."

She glanced down at her phone and saw that Felix Knight had just sent her a message. He probably hadn’t called, worried he might wake her.

"Uncle Grant, let him in."

"Very well, I’ll go right away."

As she stood up, she found Caleb Lowell watching her with a curious expression, which was a bit amusing. "Finished eating, Brother? Have time to come take a look with me?"

"Ahem, alright then. I’ll go with you." Caleb Lowell immediately stood up, afraid she would change her mind in the next second.

’Hmph. He’s a perfectly fine young man, why does he have to be so proud...’

Walking into the yard, she saw Felix Knight directing people to unload things from a car.

Felix Knight heard footsteps and turned around. "Lowell!"

’After all, I don’t know how much the Master has revealed to the Lowell family, so I didn’t dare call her Master. Normally, when outsiders are present, I always call her Lowell.’

"Why did you come in person?" Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. She had thought Nina Jennings would just send someone random.

"Well, I happened to be in the area, and I missed you, so I volunteered for the job with Nina." Felix Knight, standing at a tall 185 cm, grinned like a big goofball. Thank goodness he had the looks to pull it off.

After all, Yvonne Lowell had a thing for good looks. Whether it was friends or subordinates, they all had one thing in common: they were good-looking.

"Nina has labeled everything with names to make it easier for you to tell them apart," Felix Knight said after everything was moved into the living room.

Yvonne Lowell nodded slightly. "Alright. If you’re staying in Kingsland, you can look for Zachary Jacobs. He’ll get you set up."

"Got it. I’ll slack off for a couple of days before heading back."

After Felix Knight left, Uncle Grant looked at the large boxes on the floor, puzzled. "Young Miss, should I have these moved to your room?"

"No need. Just leave them here. I’ll be taking them to the old family home later," Yvonne Lowell shook her head.

"Very well."

Yvonne Lowell opened one of the boxes and found it was the one with gifts for the six members of her family, so she simply moved it onto the coffee table.

"Brother, let me..." Caleb Lowell hadn’t even finished his sentence when he saw his delicate, petite sister heave the box up onto the table herself.

Caleb Lowell: ...

"Nola, who is this Nina?"

"Oh, a very important friend of mine. Her name is Nina Jennings. We grew up together. When she has time to come to Kingsland, I’ll introduce you."

Without looking up, Yvonne Lowell found the package with Caleb Lowell’s name on it and handed it over without a glance.

Caleb Lowell raised an eyebrow. "What’s this?"

"A gift for you, Brother."

He didn’t know what Nina Jennings had prepared for him. It was just a sealed paper bag with a palm-sized bulge.

Caleb Lowell first took out the box inside. He opened it and saw a pair of antique-style suit cufflinks.

’Why do these look so familiar? I think I saw them at an auction in Country A. How much were they again? The final bid was over sixty million? But I seem to remember a man winning that auction...’

"Thank you, Nola, but I can’t accept this." Caleb Lowell pushed the box back to her.

If he were the one bidding, he wouldn’t hesitate even if it cost a hundred million. But this was bought with his sister’s hard-earned money; he couldn’t take it.

"Don’t you like my gift, Brother?" Yvonne Lowell pursed her lips.

"How could that be? I just think it’s too valuable!" Caleb Lowell quickly denied.

"If you like it, then take it. It’s not that valuable. It’ll just collect dust if I keep it, and besides, I have plenty of them."

Caleb Lowell: ’An eight-figure item that’s "not that valuable" and just "collects dust," is it...?’

Seeing he couldn’t win against her, he could only look at the other item in the bag. ’Is this a contract?’ He flipped through a few pages and his head snapped up.

"What’s wrong?" Yvonne Lowell was a little confused, tilting her head to look.

’Oh, highest-level navigation rights for Port M.’

The Lowell Family was starting to export many of their products, so their annual port expenses were considerable. Factoring in the time consumed by routine port inspections, Nina Jennings’s gift was truly perfect.

Caleb Lowell hesitated for a moment and asked, "Port M... isn’t it closed to the public?"

"Oh, that’s mine. I usually just use it myself, so it’s not open to others."

Although he had already guessed the answer, Caleb Lowell couldn’t help but be shocked.

"But it says here it’s free..." Caleb Lowell said, pointing to a line in the contract.

"Oh, come on, Brother. It’s just money moving from my left pocket to my right. Just sign it. The worst that can happen is you’ll have to give me a bigger allowance in the future."

"What allowance? Nola, are you short on money? I’ll have your brother give you his supplementary card with no limit later." The Lowell couple, having washed up and come downstairs, happened to hear that last sentence.

Yvonne Lowell turned to look at them. "It’s nothing, Dad. I was just joking with Brother. You two hurry up and get some breakfast."

With that, she grabbed a pen from the coffee table, stuffed it into Caleb Lowell’s hand, and shot him a threatening glare.

Caleb Lowell had no choice but to obediently sign his name on the signature line, his mind already made up to transfer half of his company shares to Yvonne Lowell.
