Chapter 27: Defense and Offense Formation Practice

It was early in the morning and Ren went to woke up the Strike team. They all assembled on the training grounds and snappily assembled.

The Darksage Brothers were the last to assemble and they were punished for ten push ups. The others chuckled at them then they were shushed by Ren.

They immediately stood up with groaning and they cleaned their palms from the dirt covering it.

The last time, the Druids were last to assemble and were punished. Making them feel the same humiliation in the past.

The strike team were all being trained and the defense team were only watching them. They thought that they were just wasting their energies in this scarce world.

They could only click their tongues in annoyance.

Ren then made them run laps around the castle and then made them do body strengthening exercises.

After that, Ren made them to rest and eat breakfast. Drako went to scout the perimeters in his dragon form... Then landed to the ground with a loud thud. Also, Drako has brass personality and only honors the strong.....

Ren saw Arthur and then asked him to have an important chat. Arthur then followed him in his tower and logistics room.

Ren the talked. "How’s the current strength of the defense team?"

"Um, I haven’t checked yet. We were busy watching of the realm." Arthur spoke, "Why? Is something the matter?" He asked.

Ren was silent then talked, "We need to test or practice the defense force. They have to be ready in case an enemy attacks." Ren suggested.

"Hmm, good suggestion. I will make a practice match for their preparedness in case an enemy attacks." Arthur then patted his back.

"Also, we should send workers to the Fishing hut and logging tent. They will give us steady supply of fish and timbers." Ren reminded him.

"Ah yes! I will send someone to those areas. Hope it will bring us food and timbers. Good luck ok your job!" Arthur then thumbs up. He was more impressed of Ren’s proactiveness and that he looks farther into the future than them.

They then went to the the training grounds and Arthur announced. "All defense team! Rally on the training grounds. We will show that we are not slacking! Let’s show the offense team what we’ve got!"

"Aye!" They immediately shouted as a response. They immediately went to the training grounds and they made into formations.

They were consisted of Knights, Dragonoid, offensive Mages, Summoner and Support Mage. His friends were there and so Ren cheered them up.

"Go guys! You can do this!" Ren shouted at them.

"Oh, Ren is cheering. Thanks!" The two replied.

They immediately made formation. The two Knights were in the front and then backed by Summoners. Then the Mages went to fire spells on the target dummy. The Dragonoid Drako laughed and then spewed a fire breath. He could even Shapeshift to his dragonoid form and then fly above. Then the Knights will tank in the front, as for their damage dealers, they have the Mages. Their team will still have to practice more if Ren would leave the defense to them. They have to go to greater strength to survive the siege of the enemies.

Then Ren showed their adjustments.

Ren suggested to Arthur that they should not reely on a single formation. They needs three or more types of formations.

Like full offense, full defense, switching of their formations, retreating of wounded frontliners and recovery. Full retreat, hit and run tactics, disabling the enemies. And many more. And codes to each switch like formation A, B, C, D, to E.

They need to have several codes of their current priorities and of what to do. And so, Ren made this to his team too. He suggested that they would work on memorizing this formations and tactics.

In Ren’s memory of being a regressor, they slacked off and were not even doing morning exercises

When the enemies attacked, they all went in chaos and panicked. Meeting their doom easily.....

And so Arthur agreeing made him happy. He needed to make his best to survive this one year here. Or even defeat the floor bosses to return home.

They went to do the basic formations first into the strike team. Whether it was defense or offence.

Defense, when all summoners will summon their minions and then the fighters will retreat .....

The Necro and Warlock then make a defensive line

Then they will fire range attacks and spells on the enemies....

Offense when the Lycan brothers will coordinate with the Druids to attack and they will be supported by summons of the two Darksage brothers.

Also Warrior Rian will make his moves with the support of Rogue and Ranger brothers.

Ren will assist with his clones.

With the Darksage brothers, they will have a boost in their formation.

The Druid and Lycanthropes will become the fighters. And so they will coordinate their attacks....

The Necromancer and Warlock will become the Mages. Their summons will become the primary defense frontline and vanguard...

Then they Ren will be the overall overseer.

Rogue and Ranger will be the damage dealers.

The both teams were showing off making Ren and Arthur chuckled...

They successfully revised their formations and Ren was contented. Rian then approached and then made a thumbs up in him. "Good job on making both teams to have coordination. This will make us harder to beat in case a battle.

Also, the Defense leader Arthur approached. "Hey Ren, how about a duel of teams? We are itching for a real battle!"

"Huh!?" Ren was slightly shocked. But yes, it will be better to let them practice their formation in a real match. This way, it will be putting their practice to a real fight.

"The teams will have a friendly duel huh. I agree!" Ren already thought the and said idea but Arthur was itching for a battle.

The two groups agreed for a match....

"How about a week from now? We still have to master the formations?" Ren suggested.

"Okay! Sure! We still have time to practice!" Arthur then fist bumped Ren.

"We will have a practice match on the clearing near our base. That time, we will see who’s the best team!" Ren announced.

"Yeah!" Arthur replied.
