Chapter 7: Chapter 7: My darling’s being a little naughty today?
"Gah...! I’m seriously so damn jealous."
Leiden whispered into his ear. His voice was thick with an unbearable mix of envy and resentment, not realizing that the very Eiros he called lucky was currently drenched in cold sweat.
Ignoring that, Eiros couldn’t think straight about what to do. What had happened yesterday was still burned perfectly into his mind—that pain, that horror, and the way Erness had acted right in front of him, as if none of it had ever happened at all.
For a brief moment, Eiros nearly lost his composure entirely. Thankfully, he managed to quickly rein in his rapidly souring expression.
’Calm down... She won’t kill me here. She can’t afford to act carelessly.’
Right—there was no way Erness would suddenly do something in a public place like this, was there?
Reassuring himself, Eiros let out a long breath and exhaled it slowly. He didn’t even notice that Erness had already closed the distance, arriving right in front of him.
"Are you sick?"
"...!"
The voice made him flinch.
He found Erness’s face far too close, her expression showing genuine concern. But Eiros understood perfectly well that it was all just a flawless act.
"This is bad... You don’t look well at all, we should get you to the infirmary."
Every single movement of hers radiated sincere worry.
Erness reached out, touching Eiros’s wrist, then carefully pulled it toward her.
Erness’s every gesture always drew the attention of countless male students. Because of that, even when the girl was with her own boyfriend, plenty of them would still stop whatever they were doing just to watch.
They felt the sting of not being able to have Erness for themselves, but also felt a strange happiness just watching from a distance. Well, it was a certain kind of joy, seeing the girl they liked looking happy—but it was much harder to feel any happiness toward the guy who’d actually managed to steal her heart.
"Damn, I honestly feel like killing Eiros right now."
"You think you’re the only one thinking that?"
"Erness is gorgeous, how the hell did she end up with a guy like Eiros? I mean, there are so many other guys way more handsome than him."
"Right?! Totally agree! Didn’t even some top-tier nobles have a thing for Erness? And there are guys way more talented too, right? So why him?"
Then, just as the watching students assumed Eiros would obediently follow his girlfriend’s lead, something none of them had expected happened.
Eiros yanked his hand back, openly shoving Erness’s hand away.
"Ah?"
Erness’s startled voice rang out, her hand left hanging awkwardly in the air. She stared at Eiros, who stood there rigid, his breathing ragged.
Even so, Erness didn’t lose her composure for even a second. The girl tilted her head, her expression soft yet worried.
"Darling?"
The onlookers couldn’t help themselves—their eyes went wide. One of them was so shocked their jaw dropped open, and a student who happened to be passing by, caught up in watching the scene, crashed straight into a girl walking in front of him.
Throughout the building, Erness and Eiros’s relationship was practically legendary. That was exactly why they were a couple that drew attention wherever they went—not just because of how well they got along, but because of just how much of a dream girl someone like Erness was.
So what would happen if that relationship shattered, at the hands of a guy who should’ve been counting his blessings just to be dating someone as beautiful as Erness?
"That guy’s lost his mind."
"If he’s already tired of living, why not just hand Erness over to me instead?"
"Oh... Is their relationship actually ending?"
That last line echoed through the silence. The students exchanged glances with each other, and delighted smiles slowly spread across their faces.
’Ah, I’m screwed.’
Meanwhile, Eiros stood there, deathly pale. He’d made a mistake, letting his fear of Erness get the better of him.
Staring at the girl in front of him, he desperately tried to find some way out. But there was nothing. Not a single idea came to mind.
The background noise faded into a dull blur. He couldn’t even register the students cheering with delight over the prospect of his relationship with Erness falling apart.
All he could see was himself, and a sadistic ghost girl standing across from him.
That was exactly when a loud, sharp bell rang out. Every student flinched, Eiros included. It was the bell signaling that morning classes were about to start.
Without a second’s hesitation, Eiros seized the opportunity to make his escape.
He slipped past Erness awkwardly, heading toward where his classroom was. By then, the students had already scattered, running off toward their own respective classes.
Left alone, Erness stood still for a moment, not moving from where she was. Around her, the chaos of the moment blurred into nothing as she stared down at the floor—right where Eiros had just been standing.
"Hmm."
She raised her hand, touching her small, pink lips, and her face flushed warm as her mouth curved into a smile.
"My darling’s being a little naughty today?"
She hadn’t even once stopped to wonder why Eiros was still alive. But that didn’t matter, since he was still alive despite having been killed over and over.
Her face grew warmer still.
"How many times...?"
How many times would she have to kill him before Eiros truly, permanently died for good?
Her heart pounded, fast and hard.

The Other classroom looked no different from any ordinary classroom. It was a spacious room, resembling the same kind of lecture hall Eiros had once attended back in his previous life.
Rows of tiered seating rose higher toward the back. Meanwhile, the lesson relied on magic to project a hologram-like blackboard, and the Professor’s voice carried across the entire room through some kind of magical amplifier.
Eiros grabbed the farthest seat he could find. His face was still deathly pale, drenched in sweat. Beside him, Leiden sat down, staring at him with an expression of deep, furrowed thought.
His mouth opened, as if about to say something, then shut again, as if he had no idea what words to use.
After a moment of visible confusion over what to do, Leiden placed a hand on Eiros’s back and said:
"Alright, buddy, I know life isn’t easy for anyone. Maybe she just wasn’t the right one for you, so don’t let it get you down. Look at this Academy, it’s basically the size of a castle—there are still plenty of pretty girls left for you to date."
Of course, Leiden had probably completely misread the whole situation. But the guy clearly meant every word of it, dead serious.
"Forget about treating me. Let me treat you instead, later, at the cafeteria. Whatever you want, on me."
The guy smiled, flashing a set of confident white teeth.
Eiros pressed his fingers to his temples and let out a small, tired laugh.
"I’m seriously a mess right now."
Leiden blinked, then looked away and patted Eiros’s back once more.
"I get it, man. You must be totally regretting having to let a girl that gorgeous go."
"Heh..."
The classroom door opened, and a male professor stepped in, a book and a stack of papers tucked in his arms.
He stood before the entire class, adjusted his glasses, and smoothed down what little hair he had left on his head. His face was lined with wrinkles as he spoke:
"Let’s begin today’s lesson."
