Chapter 64: Possessive Or Jealous

Chapter 64: Possessive Or Jealous

Third Person

Angel didn’t even realize when the girls reached the hut, standing right in front of her.

"Angel..." April called to the girl whose eyes had been fixed on her, looking like someone under a spell, frozen for God knows how long.

Abigail snapped her fingers in front of Angel’s face, forcing the Alpha out of her daydream.

"Hmm? W-what was that for?" Angel asked, still holding her drink.

"You’ve been staring like some bitch Cupid shot with an arrow," Abigail said.

"What? Something got in my eyes, nothing else," Angel replied, pretending to check her eyes. She rubbed her eyelid with the back of her wrist, coughing softly to clear her throat while trying to act as unbothered as possible.

"Seguro que es una chica fea con gafas," 1Carlos whispered from behind Angel, teasing her.

Angel jabbed him with her elbow, making her poor friend groan silently and step away from her. The sharp strike caught him right in the ribs, ending his quiet laughing immediately.

"Coco, My Baby!"

Abigail’s face lit up the moment she saw Coco, the orange cat, sitting on a chair.

She rushed toward the cat. Coco hissed and tried to run, her ears flattening back against her head, but Abigail caught her first and began showering her with kisses, something Coco absolutely hated.

"Come on, Abby. How many times have I told you Coco hates being kissed?" Angel said.

"I don’t care. I just love this cat so much that I want to kiss her forever and ever!" Abigail replied.

Coco immediately started making desperate little sounds for help.

To Coco, Abigail’s affection felt like a lifetime horror movie, and she wasn’t ready for that much human love.

Her tiny orange paws pushed frantically against Abigail’s cheeks.

Angel had to pry her cat away before Abigail gave Coco a heart attack with all those kisses.

"Stop kissing my cat. You’re traumatizing her. Sorry, Coco," Angel said as she gently stroked the orange fur.

Finally rescued, Coco melted into her owner’s warmth. The kitten buried her small face into the crook of Angel’s elbow, purring softly as Angel scratched her behind her ears.

"Can I kiss you instead then?" Abigail asked, looking at Angel.

"No, don’t. You have a husband. Go kiss him instead," Angel replied, clearly irritated.

"But I kissed you yesterday."

"That’s because you asked for it as your wedding present. That was our final kiss. You’re married now, so act like it."

April simply rolled her eyes. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, her arms crossed over her chest as she watched the back and forth with a deep, frustrated sigh.

Seeing Angel act differently around Abigail was just... typical Angel.

"Hi. My name is Carlos. We’ve met before," Carlos said, flashing April a Casanova smile. He stepped past Angel, his broad shoulders relaxed, his eyes shining with clear interest.

"Yes, I remember you. The Spanish twins," April replied with a smile, extending her hand for a handshake.

Instead, Carlos lifted her hand and kissed the back of it.

"Tu mano es suave y esos hermosos ojos verdes son magníficos. 1¿Acaso nadie te ha dicho hoy que eres hermosa?.. Because you are beautiful darling.." Carlos said in a low, charming voice.

"Oh... thank you," April replied, her cheeks flushing red. She pulled her hand back gently, her green eyes wide as she tried to adjust her glasses.

Angel watched the exchange, immediately disliking the way her friend was flirting with April. A sudden, sharp heat flared up right inside her chest, making her jaw clench tight.

"Carlos, what are you doing?" Angel asked, stepping between them and breaking their eye contact.

She shoved her way right into the small space separating them, her shoulder bumping Carlos backward.

Exactly as Carlos had expected.

He knew his friend wouldn’t stay out of it. A sly, knowing grin spread across his face as he raised his hands in fake surrender.

Katie grabbed Carlos by the arm.

"Hey, handsome boy. Where’s your sexy twin sister? I have something amazing to show you both," Katie said, dragging him away.

She glanced at April and gave her a warning look.

It clearly said, This one is mine. Focus on what’s yours.

"What are you doing here?" Angel asked April.

"Uh... Bonding with Katie and Abigail," April answered, her tone defensive as she met Angel’s gaze head-on.

Angel slowly scanned April from head to toe before stopping at her exposed flat stomach. The soft skin rose and fell with every breath April took, the flower-patterned skirt riding low on her hips.

"Go change your clothes now. You’re going to attract sharks dressed like that."

"What is wrong with what I’m wearing? I like it."

"Since when did you start liking this? You’ve only been here for one night, and you’re already dressing like a slut."

"Excuse me? The way I dress isn’t your concern. And you’re the one who told me to dress like this yesterday, remember? Yesterday’s outfit was even worse than this." April took a step forward, her voice rising over the distant sound of the beach music.

"Just go fucking change, will you? You don’t want to end up in some predator’s arms expecting me to rescue you, because I won’t. There are sweatpants and jerseys better than that flower-patterned thing you’re wearing." Angel shouts, her crimson eyes flashing with cold, stubborn anger.

April wanted to argue, but she noticed people around them had stopped to watch. A couple of snooker players near the next hut were turning their heads, whispering among themselves while eyeing the scene.

"Fuck you. I’m leaving this place."

She turned around and stormed off, heading back toward the resort to change and leave the district.

Her sandals kicked up clouds of sand with every fast step, her arms swinging furiously at her sides.

"Wow... so possessive. You’ve never been this possessive over me or any other girl," Abigail teased. She leaned against the wooden pillar of the hut, her manicured fingers twirling a lock of blonde hair.

"Possessive? Don’t flatter yourself," Angel shot back, her voice tight and defensive.

Then, seeing April leave in anger, Angel sighed and followed after her, hoping to convince her to stay.

She set her whiskey glass down on the table, handed Coco carefully to a nearby staff member, and strode out into the bright sunlight, picking up her pace to catch up with the girl marching away.

"Your hand is soft, and those beautiful green eyes are magnificent.""I'm sure it's an ugly girl with glasses."
