Chapter 59: I Can’t Give You My Organs.

April

The moment my eyes opened, a strange pain hit my head, then slowly faded away.

I squeezed my eyes shut against the sharp, throbbing pressure behind my temples, letting out a soft groan into the room.

I tried sitting up, only to realize that I was being held down. An arm was wrapped tightly around me. The heavy, warm weight was resting firm across my ribs, pinning me down against the mattress.

When I looked beside me, it was a wine-haired girl sleeping next to me.

Angel.

Her face was resting just a few inches from mine on the soft white pillow, her long lashes dark against her pale skin, her messy hair scattered everywhere.

I lay there completely still, my heart skipping a beat as my mind tried to piece together how we ended up here.

I had a very strange dream last night. She was angry, shouting at me non-stop. I couldn’t hear the sound, but her mouth was moving like a funny, angry mockingbird.

I blinked, taking a quick breath as I looked down at myself under the duvet.

I realized I wasn’t wearing the bikini crop top I had worn last night... and even Angel wasn’t wearing the same clothes.

Instead, I was dressed in a soft, oversized shirt and sweatpants that smelled clean, like fresh laundry and light lavender.

Did we do it last night?

My cheeks turned bright red at the thought. I checked between my thighs and I was... I’d say okay.

There was no deep ache, no sharp throbbing, just a tiny bit of lingering warmth.

I gently lifted her arm off me and got out of bed.

I moved as slowly as I could, holding my breath so the mattress wouldn’t squeak, and slid my legs over the edge.

I didn’t know where I was, but this wasn’t my room, and definitely not Angel’s room.

My eyes swept around the simple, elegant resort room, taking in the small balcony doors and the heavy curtains.

I knew every room in the mansion. This wasn’t one of them.

The room was much smaller.

I obviously knew the rooms because I had once gotten bored and toured the entire mansion by myself.

Back when I first moved in, I had walked down every hallway, opening doors just to see how massive the place really was.

I was still feeling heavy from all the margaritas. My legs felt slightly shaky as my feet touched the cool floor, my tongue still dry and tasting funny.

I can’t believe I drank that much.

"What are you doing standing there like some burglar? Are you trying to steal something?"

I jumped, a sharp gasp escaping my throat as the deep, raspy voice sliced through the silence of the room.

I turned my head to see Angel sitting up with her arms folded.

Oh... she’s awake.

She was leaning back against the wooden headboard, her messy wine-colored hair tumbling over her bare shoulders, her eyes tracking my every movement.

I was actually planning on running before she opened those eyes of hers.

"Why would I be a burglar? I was kidnapped against my own will, so I was just trying to make a run for it before you open those eyes.."

I didn’t know why I said that, but I was being honest. I pulled my hands tight against my chest, trying to sound firm despite how shaky my voice was.

"Kidnapped? You’ve been saying weird things lately. Why would I kidnap your stupid ass?" Angel scoffed, tilting her head with a sharp, lazy look in her eyes.

"Because you’re obsessed with sex, and you must have taken advantage of my body last night."

"I definitely didn’t. You willingly gave me your body... mostly your mouth."

My throat locked up instantly.

"So you did fuck me?"

"Almost. Then you went ahead and puked inside my mouth... ruining my sexual urge."

"What? I vomited inside your mouth?"

I covered my mouth as flashes of last night came back to me, finally explaining why she had been yelling at my face.

Oh my God...

The blurry memories hit me all at once, me grabbing her soft jacket, pulling her close, demanding her to eat me, and then the awful, warm wave rushing up my throat right into her open mouth.

I really did all that.

"I am very sorry... that was my first time getting drunk." My cheeks burned so hot I thought my skin was going to melt right off my face.

I backed away half a step, staring at her in sheer terror and mortification.

"Everything is always your first time. Surprisingly, you’re a natural at it. From being perfect at sucking my dick to being comfortable vomiting inside my mouth. Do you know how much toothpaste and mouthwash I had to use last night? Thanks to you, April January, you’ve ruined my kissing life."

April January?

My whole body went totally stiff. My heart gave a heavy, painful thud against my ribs.

Did she just call me by my father’s surname?

She had never acknowledged me as a Morningstar, but...

She had always called me Four Eyes, the ghost girl, or some mean title to remind me that I didn’t belong in her house.

It had been so long since I last heard someone call me by that name.

I controlled myself, trying not to show how much hearing it affected me. I swallowed the lump in my throat, taking a slow, steady breath to keep my posture up.

"Well... it’s a good thing. You’ll stop kissing me."

"True. I don’t like what comes out of your mouth, so that’s a no-go zone. But I like what comes out of your pussy. That’s a yes-go zone.... Nothing will ever make me hate that pussy of yours. It’s tasty and delicious.." Angel said it so casually, as if she were talking about her favorite meal, her face deadpan and completely unbothered.

"You do realize that you’re obsessed with me, right?" I snapped back, trying to push past the burning shame in my chest.

"No. But I do realize that you, April January, are in love with me."

"No, I’m... I will never fall for someone like you."

"Really?"

She knelt on the bed, wearing that smug smirk.

She slid forward across the white duvet, coming to rest right at the edge of the mattress, her crimson eyes gleaming with cold victory.

"Because last night, drunk you expressed how you felt. It came out in broken pieces, but I put them together. I harvested your organs... your lungs, your heart, and your brain. I’m all you think about. Tsk, tsk, tsk... you are a softie. You couldn’t control your emotions in the game. Looks like I truly won.

Too bad... I don’t feel that way.

I can’t give you my organs. They’re mine, because that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I’m going to take my bath first. Then you can use the bathroom, and afterward we’ll go out for breakfast."

I watched Angel climb out of bed and head into the bathroom while my heart slowly sank.
