Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 29: Accepting Defeat

Chapter 29: Accepting Defeat

I stared at my defeat like someone who was about to go inside.

Lying beside me was Angel, wearing the smile of victory.

She was stretched out on her side with her head propped up by one arm, her crimson eyes gleaming with absolute, unbothered satisfaction. Her wine-red hair fell in loose strands across her forehead, the sharp, arrogant curve of her lips driving a fresh spike of humiliation straight through my chest.

I had been defeated!

The realization hit my stomach like a heavy, lead brick, turning my limbs completely weak and numb against the soft grass.

We were having our picnic date in the middle of the park close to the mansion.

I couldn’t believe Angel had done everything within one week, and now she was busy celebrating inside that empty head of hers.

Seven short days was all it took for her to methodically break down every single condition I had set, moving through the list with a terrifying, calculating speed that left me completely breathless.

We had two tasks left, and we were currently doing one.

"Pack your bags, four eyes. We are going on a vacation date for a whole three days..." she sang out.

Her deep, husky voice dropped into a mocking, musical cadence, her fingers reaching out to tap the corner of my scrap book with a light, teasing rhythm.

"It cannot be true... this is not true." I denied repeatedly, despite seeing the proof right in front of me, and I was the one keeping track of every single achievement.

I shook my head in a frantic, desperate motion, my glasses slipping slightly down the bridge of my nose as my eyes scanned the ink checks over and over again.

"Oh, it is true. I walked you to the bus stop three times, we bought groceries together, I carried you on my back, we watched movies at home and in the cinema, I cooked for you, you cooked for me, we cooked together, we held each other’s hands, I took you out on a date, I spent the whole day with you in your library... I did them all, and even the ones I haven’t mentioned... and you ticked every single one. After the vacation, I am getting what I want." Angel said.

She rattled off the long list with a clinical, unbothered ease, using her fingers to count every single memory we had created over the past week as if she were simply reading off a receipt.

But was there any need for her to explain? The book said it all.

But seriously, after everything that had happened, this girl did not crack a little bit.

I stared at her smooth, arrogant face, searching desperately for any sign of soft emotion, any tiny hint that the hours we spent together had touched her cold heart.

"How can you not fall in love? With everything you have been doing throughout this week, was there not a single moment when your heart beat so fast because I was close or always around?" I asked sincerely, even though I knew she was going to give me a negative answer.

Angel sat up.

The fabric of her black shirt shifted as she uncrossed her legs, her tall, athletic frame rising up until her shadow completely blocked out the warm afternoon sun over my lap.

"I told you before, there is no such thing as love in my book. Girls way out of your league have done far more than what we have done, and yet my heart doesn’t beat for any of them. I warned you before you played this game. Angel Morningstar never loses. I gave you all my attention. Now it’s time for you to give me your body. After the vacation, I’m getting what I want." Angel said.

She looked down at me with cold, unwavering certainty, her eyes flat and empty of any genuine affection while her words dropped like heavy stones onto the grass.

"There’s no need for the stupid vacation. You already won... take what you want... and let’s move on..." I sighed.

I snapped the book shut with a sharp, hollow sound, letting my hands fall heavily onto my lap as a deep, suffocating wave of exhaustion swept through my entire body.

My heart had changed within one week because I had been too close to her.

The constant exposure to her dominant presence, her heavy scent, and the sudden moments of strange kindness had completely ruined my careful defenses from the inside out.

A week ago, I got annoyed just by the sight of her. Now I was even letting her sit beside me, holding my hand.

I remembered how fiercely I used to glare at her in the foyer, yet here I was, my skin tingling with a traitorous, lingering warmth simply because her arm had brushed against mine.

When I was at work, I felt perfectly fine, but when I got home, I wasn’t.

Angel was around.

She occupied every single corner of the house, her laugh echoing down the hallways and her heavy footsteps on the stairs constantly reminding me of her absolute dominance.

Every single thing she did grabbed my attention, but still, her heart was made of stone, hard rock.. or maybe diamond...

I’m more worried about my own heart than hers... and I am still angry that she doesn’t reciprocate those feelings.

I might have crowded her inside my head, and she wouldn’t go away.

So it’s best she does what she wants, and everything will go back to the way it was a week ago.

If I just surrendered now and gave her the victory she wanted, the silly game would finally end, and she would go back to ignoring me like the invisible ghost I was supposed to be.

"So no vacation, huh? And I still get what I want? Lucky me..." Angel’s voice brought me back to my upcoming reality.

"Yes... you can get your stupid revenge."

I kept my gaze fixed on the checkered pattern of the blanket, my teeth digging hard into the inner lining of my bottom lip to stop the trembling.

"What is the revenge? Say it with your own mouth."

She leaned a little closer, her deep voice dropping into that husky, demanding tone that always made my pulse jump into a wild, frantic rhythm.

"Sticking your fucking dick inside me because I hurt your ego."

"Good girl... I can take you right here, right now."

Her grin spread wide and wicked, her long fingers reaching down to lightly pinch my chin, forcing me to look directly into her dark crimson eyes.

"Are you really serious? This is a public place."

My eyes widened in pure shock, my shoulders pulling back as I glanced nervously toward the distant walking paths where regular families were strolling.

"I have done it in a park once or twice."

I stared at her in horror. This girl was shameless.

She didn’t care about rules, public decency, or the opinions of anyone else in the world, living entirely by her own wild, dominant desires.

"But don’t worry... we won’t do it here. It will be my own private show, and I am the only one who is invited." Angel smirked, then stood up.

She released my chin with a soft flick of her wrist, rising to her full height in one smooth, fluid motion that displayed all her effortless athletic strength.

"I will give you a 24-hour head start. After 24 hours, my game shall begin. Game on."

She delivered the final command with a low, chilling confidence, turning her back on me to stride casually across the green lawn toward the mansion gates.

Angel left me in the park, leaving me with my defeat.

I couldn’t believe I was going to lose my virginity to Angel Morningstar.
