Chapter 24: Chapter 24: The Cannibal Feast of Sector 0
The sky above the Capital’s Central Plaza did not turn red from the setting sun.
It turned a sickening, incandescent crimson from the fifty-thousand-foot mana column surging out of the subterranean fissure.
Thirty thousand high-grade abyssal beasts—six-legged shadow panthers, winged gargoyles clad in molten brass scales, and horned drake-chimeras—flooded the eight-lane avenues surrounding the National Hunter Association Headquarters. Concrete skyscrapers cracked under the weight of thousands of talons, their tinted glass windows shattering into endless rain under the sonic roars of the horde.
At the center of this sea of living nightmares stood the ninety-foot skeletal titan: The Abyssal Calamity King (Class-SS Boss).
Its six skeletal arms held massive obsidian cleavers dripping with black, corrosive acid. Its exposed ribs encased a pulsating, blood-red mana heart the size of a shipping container, radiating a physical heat so intense that the asphalt fifty yards around its feet turned into liquid lava.
Inside the 100th-floor war room of the Association, President William gripped the marble window sill, laughing like a madman as he looked down at the ocean of red flesh.
"Look at them! Thirty thousand Class-S and Class-SS monsters!" William shrieked, his eyes bloodshot, his voice echoing off the glass. "No human Hunter can fight a horde! No shadow army can survive thirty thousand abyssal beasts! WE ALL DIE TODAY, RENAN!"
Down on the elevated overpass, two hundred yards above the plaza.
Renan hovered weightlessly in mid-air. The hot, sulfurous wind blew his dark combat coat back, exposing his calm face. His purple pupils glowed through the dark fog with a cold, absolute hunger that made the air around him hum with static pressure.
Below him, thirty thousand monsters looked up simultaneously.
Their glowing yellow eyes locked onto the solitary human floating above them. Instincts forged in the deepest abyssal trenches warned them of danger, but their wild, unrefined rage drove them forward.
ROAAAAAAAAR!
Ten thousand winged gargoyles kicked off the glass skyscraper walls, blurring into a massive, sky-blotting cloud of fangs and brass talons, lunging straight at Renan from every direction.
Renan didn’t move a single limb. He didn’t summon Ignis. He didn’t draw a weapon.
He simply threw his head back, opening both his palms toward the sky.
[SKILL ACTIVATED: ABSOLUTE MASS EXTRACTION (RANK-EX)] [DOMAIN EXPANDED: 5 KILOMETERS] [TARGETS LOCKED: 30,000 ABYSSAL BEASTS]
RUMBLE-RUMBLE-BOOM!
The five-kilometer space around the plaza collapsed into an absolute vacuum.
A seventy-foot vortex of pitch-black and deep violet shadow energy erupted violently from Renan’s chest, expanding outward like a dark supernova. The shadow vortex slammed into the sky-blotting cloud of ten thousand flying gargoyles mid-air.
CRACK-CRACK-CRACK-SHATTER!
The gargoyles didn’t even get the chance to strike.
As soon as the dark violet shadow energy touched their brass scales, their living mana circuits were violently torn out of their bodies. Their flesh, scales, and skeletal structures dissolved in mid-air, stripped down to raw, fundamental energy streams that poured straight into the roaring dark vortex above Renan’s head.
Ten thousand high-grade monsters were turned into gray, weightless dust in less than three seconds.
DING! DING! DING! DING!
A cascade of crimson notifications flared across Renan’s vision at hypersonic speed, blurring into a continuous wall of glowing text:
[Mass Extraction in Progress...] [Target: 10,000 Abyssal Gargoyles Extracted!] [Strength +1,800!] [Agility +1,650!] [Vitality +2,100!] [Mana +3,200!]
"Guh... HAAAH!"
Renan let out a deep, guttural breath as the tidal wave of raw monster attributes flooded into his core. His skeletal structure groaned, his muscle fibers weaving together with a crystalline density that emitted a faint, violet luminescence through his skin.
Down on the street, the remaining twenty thousand beasts froze in absolute, primal terror.
They were beasts of destruction—creatures that knew no fear, no retreat, no surrender. Yet as they watched ten thousand of their flying kin turned into dust in a single second, a wave of instinctual horror paralyzed their legs.
Renan slowly lowered his head, his dark purple eyes looking down at the remaining twenty thousand monsters on the street.
"Is that all?" Renan whispered softly.
He dropped out of the sky, slamming into the concrete plaza directly in front of the ninety-foot Abyssal Calamity King.
BOOM!
The kinetic impact of his landing cratered the plaza fifty feet deep, sending a shockwave that crushed the skulls of five hundred surrounding beast-chimeras instantly.
ROAAAAAAR!
The ninety-foot skeletal titan let out a deafening roar that shattered every remaining window within three miles. Its six skeletal arms raised its massive obsidian cleavers, bringing all six blades down simultaneously onto Renan’s position in a hundred-ton execution strike.
[Class-SS Boss Skill: Abyssal Cleave (Rank-EX)]
The six massive blades, wrapped in boiling lava and black acid, tore through the atmosphere at hypersonic speed, striking Renan directly on his head and shoulders.
BOOM-CRASH!
The ground beneath Sector 0 collapsed twenty feet deep into the subterranean subway lines below. A cloud of black fire and molten rock blotted out the plaza.
Up in the penthouse war room, President William slammed his fist onto the console, screaming in hysterical joy: "YES! DIRECT HIT! SIX CLASS-SS ACID CLEAVERS! HE’S VAPORIZED! HE’S—"
William’s voice died in his throat.
The smoke in the plaza cleared instantly, blown away by a simple, casual exhale of mana.
Standing at the bottom of the twenty-foot crater, holding all six hundred-foot obsidian cleavers in mid-air, was Renan.
He hadn’t used two hands. He hadn’t used a shield.
Renan’s left hand was raised above his head, his five bare fingers spread wide, catching the sharp edges of all six Class-SS obsidian blades simultaneously.
Not a single scratch appeared on his pale skin. The boiling lava evaporated into harmless steam against his [Sovereign’s Armor (Rank-EX)], and the corrosive black acid dripped off his coat like clean water.
[Physical Attribute Check:] [Renan Vitality: 7,980] [Calamity King Physical Output: 3,200] [Result: Absolute Ineffectiveness.]
The ninety-foot skeletal titan’s hollow eye sockets flickered with crimson fire, its six arms trembling wildly as it tried to pull its cleavers back, but Renan’s bare fingers held the six hundred-ton blades like an unyielding titanium vise.
"You are noisy," Renan said softly, looking up at the titan’s massive skeletal face.
Renan squeezed his left hand.
CRACK-SHATTER!
All six hundred-foot Class-SS obsidian cleavers shattered into millions of black stone shards, raining down onto the lava-covered street like useless gravel.
Before the Calamity King could process the destruction of its weapons, Renan stepped forward, pulling his right fist back into a simple, straight punching stance.
[Current Physical Strength: 7,530 Points] [Mana Density: 13,680 Units]
Dark violet lightning and crimson blood-flame mana wrapped around Renan’s knuckles, distorting the spatial plane around his right arm into a visible, pitch-black gravitational sphere.
"This is for wasting my time," Renan whispered.
Renan threw a straight punch into the center of the titan’s ninety-foot chest plate—directly where its blood-red mana heart resided.
BOOM-CRACK-THUD!
The atmospheric pressure in Sector 0 didn’t just collapse—it detonated.
The straight punch delivered over one hundred tons of concentrated kinetic force directly into the skeletal titan’s chest.
The ninety-foot Abyssal Calamity King didn’t just fly backward; its entire upper chest structure collapsed inward. Its massive, blood-red mana heart exploded into a hundred-foot geyser of crimson energy. The kinetic shockwave passed through the titan’s body, continuing two miles down the central avenue, wiping out the remaining twenty thousand abyssal monsters in a single, roaring wave of dark destruction.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
Twenty thousand monsters were vaporized instantly. Their bodies collapsed into gray dust that covered the entire eight-lane highway like a blizzard of ash.
The ninety-foot skeletal titan fell backward, crashing into the front steps of the National Hunter Association Headquarters, its massive frame dissolving rapidly into dark violet smoke.
DING! DING! DING!
A golden-crimson system panel flared over the entire ruined plaza, glowing with ancient dragon sigils:

Renan slowly stepped out of the central crater, walking up the marble steps of the National Hunter Association Headquarters.
The gray ash of thirty thousand monsters swirled around his leather boots. His dark purple pupils burned with a dark, absolute radiance that made the marble pillars of the building tremble as he passed.
Behind him, Shadow General Ignis and four Shadow Commanders emerged from the darkness, followed by two thousand eight hundred Shadow Knights marching in silent, terrifying formation up the steps.
Renan stopped at the heavy gilded doors of the 100th-floor express elevator shaft.
He didn’t press a button. He simply extended his index finger toward the reinforced titanium elevator doors.
FWHOOSH!
A needle of dark violet lightning shot from his finger, dissolving the titanium doors and the elevator cable in a fraction of a second, opening the hundred-story shaft directly to the penthouse war room above.
Renan turned his head slightly, looking at Shadow General Ignis.
"Ignis," Renan said softly, his voice echoing up the hundred-story hollow shaft.
"Command me, my Sovereign."
"Clear the remaining floors," Renan ordered coldly, stepping into the open elevator shaft and floating weightlessly upward toward the 100th floor.
"I am going up to collect President William’s head."
