Chapter 2!!!!
Chapter 2: 2!!!!
Neo woke with a jolt on the thin sleeping mat, heart hammering against his ribs.
He sat up too fast.
The world tilted.
Fear flooded him as he stared at the unfamiliar walls of woven hide and rough wood.
He didn’t know where he was.
Then the smell hit him, old smoke, dried herbs, and the damp earth of a place that had never known comfort.
Outside, a monster’s roar tore through the trees, a raw reminder that this world was always trying to kill them.
"Whe... where am I?" he whispered.
His fingers found the throbbing lump on his temple.
The moment he touched it, the memories slammed into him.
This wasn’t his body.
He was Neo now, wearing the skin of a young tribesman who had been speared in the back while rushing toward a mana spring.
The boy had died stupidly, and the other tribesmen had sneered when they dragged the body home, muttering about another useless weight.
Shame and anger burned through him.
He clenched his fists until his knuckles ached.
He was one of them now.
He would have to prove himself.
Change how they saw him.
And more importantly... protect her.
Heavy footsteps approached.
The hide door flew open, flooding the hut with harsh daylight.
Martha stormed inside.
She was tall and powerfully built, wild red hair falling around her face, sharp yellow eyes tight with sleepless worry.
One look at those eyes told him she had stayed awake the entire night watching over him.
For a moment genuine fear cut through Neo.
The fear of losing her.
Losing the only warmth this new life had given him simply because the previous owner of this body had been weak.
Her worn leather vest clung to her full breasts and strong frame, rising and falling with every quick breath.
"Neo!"
She reached him in two strides and pressed the back of her hand to his forehead.
"Why the hell did you go hunting alone?
I could’ve lost you."
Her voice cracked.
Tears shone in her eyes.
He could see the guilt eating her, guilt that she hadn’t stopped him when he insisted on joining the team to claim the mana spring.
If the others had been even a little later, she would have lost him.
Tears slipped down her cheeks as the memory of that near-loss hit her again.
Neo’s chest tightened.
No one in his old life had ever cared this much.
Here, Martha fought every day for their small tribe in a wilderness that wanted them dead.
"I’m fine, Mother," he said, forcing a small smile.
"No, you aren’t."
She knew him too well, always hiding pain behind a smile, pride making everything worse.
He could go days on an empty stomach and still say nothing.
Neo caught her hand and pressed it against his cheek.
"Really.
See?
I’m talking to you.
And I won’t do it again, Mother."
She sighed.
She didn’t believe him, not completely, but she had no choice except to put her faith in him.
She didn’t want to lose him the way she had lost his father.
She still remembered that rainy night when the tribesmen brought the body home.
For years she had hidden the truth, locking young Neo in the closet and lying that his father had only gone to find food.
She would not lose the last person she had left, even if it meant he eventually hated her for it.
She wiped her eyes and cupped his face with rough, gentle hands.
The closeness sent a rush of heat through him, the warm scent of her skin, the soft press of her body.
"Don’t beat yourself up," she said.
"You showed the tribe the mana spring.
Be proud of that."
He nodded, then noticed the fresh claw marks on her cheek and jaw.
"What happened to your face?"
She turned her head slightly.
"Slipped while gathering vin fruits.
It’s nothing."
The cuts were too clean.
She was lying to protect him again.
Something hardened inside Neo.
He would not let her carry all the weight anymore.
He changed the subject.
"While you were out, I figured something out.
We can turn wood into charcoal using controlled pyro mana.
It burns longer, cleaner, and saves fuel."
Martha tilted her head, curious.
Neo picked up a dry branch, focused his mana, and charred it evenly.
He held it up so she could see the steady, low-smoke burn.
Her face lit up.
She laughed and pulled him into a tight hug.
Her heavy breasts pressed firm and warm against his chest through the thin leather.
The hug lasted a beat too long, stirring heat low in his gut.
"My son turns into a genius after cracking his head!"
He smiled back, but the smile faded when her expression turned serious.
"Don’t show this to the others yet.
They fear what they don’t understand.
They might turn on you."
"I get it," he said.
She checked the lump on his head.
He winced.
"Ow."
"Like I thought.
You lied about being fine."
She shushed him before he could argue.
"Let me help."
Her hand glowed with soft brown earth mana.
The pain faded quickly, but her breathing grew heavier.
Sweat beaded on her forehead and ran down between her breasts.
"Sorry, son.
I used most of my mana earlier..."
She reached into her vest, the leather pulling tight across her chest, and pressed a mana stone into his palm.
"Take this to the healing priest.
You need to be well.
That’s all that matters."
Neo pushed it back.
"Mother, you haven’t even checked your knee wound in a month.
This is just a bump."
She smiled, steady and warm.
"Don’t worry.
As long as I don’t carry heavy loads, it won’t get worse."
He knew she was lying.
He hated himself for watching her suffer like this.
He promised himself he would become strong enough that they would never again worry about the next meal or whether the walls could survive the rain.
She hauled water every morning without a word.
Martha placed her fingers gently over his mouth.
"Listen to me.
Don’t worry about me.
I just want you to become the best tribesman you can be.
Make achievements.
Get strong."
She swallowed.
She knew those words would push him toward more danger, but after nearly losing him at the mana spring she had no choice.
Shielding him under her wing had almost cost him his life.
Later she would ask Luna, twenty years an experienced hunter, to train him properly.
She pressed the stone into his hand again, calloused fingers lingering against his.
The warm contact sent a spark straight down his spine.
Neo looked around the rundown hut, water stains on the roof, cracks letting in light, the constant damp smell of struggle.
He remembered being called the weakest, the rat no one respected.
He gripped the mana stone until the edges cut into his palm.
"Don’t worry, Mother.
I’ll make our lives better.
Stronger.
I swear it."
Martha’s smile softened.
She rubbed his head, fingers sliding through his hair in a way that felt both motherly and intimate.
His pulse kicked up.
She turned to tidy the hut, bending over to sweep debris.
The leather stretched tight over her wide hips and thick thighs, showing every strong curve.
A sharp ding sounded in his head.
Taming MILFs System wants to install.
Price: 1 Mana Crystal.
Neo’s eyes widened.
Finally.
He took the stone, letting his fingers brush hers on purpose this time, holding the contact a moment longer.
"Thank you, Mother.
I’ll get stronger, for both of us.
I’ll change everything."
She cupped his cheek, thumb tracing his jaw.
Her yellow eyes locked on his, full of love and tired strength.
"I don’t care about prestige or power, my son.
I’m just happy you’re alive."
Another notification appeared.
Detected 1 Mana Stone. Use?
Neo hid the stone behind his back.
Yes.
Taming MILFs System Installed!
He watched her move around the hut, hips swaying, and darker thoughts stirred.
This world was brutal.
But with the system and this new body, he would protect her... and take whatever he needed to make them strong.
