Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Danger from the Darkness
[Target: Black-Feathered Crow]
[Physique: 8.9]
[Spirit: 0.9]
[State: Low-tier Extraordinary Creature.]
[Abilities: Iron Claw, Steel Hide]
[Evaluation: Harak was once an ordinary bird, but now it possesses claws sharp enough to shatter steel, a defense that can withstand all mundane sharp weapons, and a swift speed that is considered excellent even among Low-tier Extraordinary Creatures.]
Its black feathers were incomparably hard, as if molded from metal.
Wang Ya tapped it with his hand. A low THUD THUD proved the strength of its Defense Power.
Excluding its wingspan, its body was not much smaller than a young calf.
"CROO! CROO! CROO!"
Harak nuzzled Wang Ya’s hand with its head, its blood-red eyes filled with fear.
The daily nourishment from his Particle Energy had made Harak incredibly close to Wang Ya.
When a creature stepped into the Extraordinary Domain, its intelligence would increase to a certain degree. However, that transformation was not simple; there was a chance of failure, which would lead to death.
"Don’t be scared, little guy. No, you’re a big guy now. Just relax."
Wang Ya stroked Harak’s head. With a Physique more powerful than a giant bear or a wild bull, it nuzzled against his chest. If it were an ordinary person, the force would have knocked them to the ground, possibly breaking a few ribs.
However, from the moment a Wizard’s Particle Energy was born within their body, it constantly influenced their physical form, guided and controlled by their Spiritual Power to develop in an orderly and beneficial way.
Catching a fierce tiger bare-handed or shattering the gates of a Mortal City with a single punch were simple matters for a Wizard.
Physique had never been a Wizard’s weak point.
Wang Ya could easily withstand Harak’s great strength.
But if a pet’s affectionate nuzzling and acceptance of caresses turned into a vicious bite, the situation would be fundamentally different.
Harak was extremely comfortable being petted, almost purring as it pressed into Wang Ya’s embrace. It failed to notice, however, that the pair of eyes watching it with a subtle gaze had suddenly turned solid.
A needle-like pain pierced its fragile mind, taking root deep within its consciousness before blossoming.
"KREEE!" Harak’s pupils constricted violently. Its struggles ended in a mere second, but the consequence was a scratch on Wang Ya’s chest so deep that the bone was visible.
A huge gash ran from his collarbone down to the end of his rib cage, blood streaming from the wound.
Fortunately, it hadn’t damaged his internal organs. To him, it was merely a flesh wound that would heal in a week or two.
’Slightly bad luck.’ Wang Ya raised an eyebrow. The Eye of Truth had calculated eight possible reactions from Harak, and most of them predicted he would be unharmed, or at worst, disheveled.
The flesh and tissue beneath Wang Ya’s skin quickly stopped the bleeding and formed a scab. The extremely prominent scar on his chest made him look somewhat ferocious.
This was one of the benefits of Particle Energy influencing the physical body: the ability to control one’s metabolism to a certain extent.
’The Consciousness Seed has completely transformed into a Consciousness Brand. I can now freely control Harak’s actions and its very life and death, and I can also share its vision.’
A faint smile touched the corners of Wang Ya’s lips.
In the history of Wizards, the chances of a cultivated creature betraying its master were small, but they did exist.
Wang Ya would not allow for any possible accidents.
’Everything I possess must be under my complete control. Caution means safety.’
The pursuit of truth is a long process, and many Wizards who fall along the way do so regretting a minor mistake.
The room was a mess; the desk and walls were covered in marks of violent destruction.
Harak cowered in a corner, its blood-red pupils fearfully reflecting Wang Ya’s approaching figure.
Wang Ya reached out his hand, as if to pet it. Harak, which had been wary, suddenly felt an irresistible desire well up from the bottom of its heart.
As its master’s hand stroked it again, Harak gradually relaxed its body, and its blood-red pupils showed pleasure. The concept of ’master’ had just been born in its mind. The master before it was the best person in the world to it, and it must obey its master’s commands at all times, no matter what.
"Go on, go out and find your own food."
He opened the window. A ray of sunlight broke through a gap in the clouds, bringing light to the dark world, and Harak’s figure merged into it.
Extraordinary Creatures reigned at the top of the food chain; hunting ordinary Sea Beasts was an effortless task.
The salty sea breeze whipped against Wang Ya’s pale cheeks. ’It’s almost time. Green Forest... I will try each of the three methods Tuta Wizard mentioned.’
Holding a wooden box, his eyes held a profound depth.
The blurry image of a girl with long, green hair appeared on the Finger Bone. Only her serene face could be vaguely discerned, her green eyes looking slightly dazed.
At the bow of the ship, from within the shadows, Tuta Wizard’s figure quietly watched the ebb and flow of the dark ocean tides. He glanced up at the Extraordinary Black-Feathered Crow soaring in the sky and let out a sigh. ’So we’ve been targeted after all.’
They hadn’t been able to shake them for half a month. The other party’s goal was clear: they were after the Wizard Ship, and they came with absolute malice.
’I wonder how many of these little ones will be left,’ he thought.
He had already released his aura, but the current result proved that whatever had its eyes on the Wizard Ship was an existence of the same Level as himself.
The ranks went from Level 1 to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, followed by Extreme Wizard Apprentice. His Power level fell into the last category.
As for anything higher... that was another realm entirely, the top of the Pyramid, the lofty Decision Makers.
Tuta Wizard slowly pulled a bottle of shimmering purple liquid from the sleeve of his black robe. A cold glint appeared on his old, wrinkled face.
He wasn’t so old that he couldn’t fight!
"Fellow freshmen, welcome to today’s Wizard exchange meeting. Rovena will be our sharer today, bringing us his insights and experience with the Wizard Meditation Method."
The Wizard Freshmen were gathered around the four new students with the highest aptitude.
A freckled young man with brown hair stepped forward. This was Rovena.
"Let’s give him a round of applause," Arthur announced loudly. Even though it was Rovena’s time to share his experience, it seemed as if Arthur was still the center of this makeshift stage.
"I might not explain it well, so please bear with me," Rovena said shyly.
"We believe in you, Rovena! Your aptitude is top-tier, so your understanding of the Wizard Meditation Method is definitely clearer than ours."
"We’re really looking forward to your insights. Rovena, just relax and speak your mind."
The Wizard Freshmen praised and cheered.
Ossen, who had purple hair and androgynous features, saw this and patted Rovena’s shoulder.
He said softly, "As one of us four, your aptitude has earned our recognition. These ordinary freshmen are destined to look up to you, so go on up and speak boldly."
Rovena was pushed to the front of the stage. The speech he had mentally prepared for several nights was completely forgotten, and he began to stammer.
The joy, anticipation, and goodwill on every freshman’s face gave Rovena more encouragement and confidence, and his speech became increasingly fluent.
Wang Ya glanced over indifferently a few times, then focused on finishing the food in front of him.
It was like a kindergartener from the senior class teaching the junior class. The metaphor couldn’t be more fitting.
After finishing breakfast and returning to his room, a fine, blue luster bloomed in Wang Ya’s eyes.
This time, the Eye of Truth was looking at his own information.
