Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Analysis Successful, The Fifth Rune of the Vast Sea
[Notification: Vast Sea Meditation Method - Fifth Wizard Rune analysis successful.]
Inside his Wizard residence, Wang Ya stopped his work, his eyes lighting up with joy.
On the workbench, a blue liquid and a red liquid in the incubator gradually began to draw closer, mingling together.
The stock solutions of Red Scale Poison and Blue Poison, after his careful preparation and cultivation, had truly begun to fuse, taking on an entirely new color.
Perhaps today, he could complete the fusion and obtain a new Extraordinary Poison.
Meanwhile, the Eye of Truth had also completed its analysis of the fifth Wizard Rune.
He took off his work clothes and went to the washroom to clean himself up.
Back in his room, with a mere thought, Wang Ya entered his Sea of Spirit. He was met with the same boundless, heavy darkness, the sound of crashing waves ebbing and flowing. Above, four brightly shining stars twinkled.
On closer inspection, they were revealed to be composed of mysterious and intricate Runes.
In the most ancient of times, the First Generation Wizards used Wizard Runes to converse with the world. They witnessed the first Gate of Truth, and by pushing it open, they obtained endless knowledge, giving rise to the Wizard World we know today.
The very first Wizard Meditation Methods originated from the Creator Wizards, who designed them by deconstructing and reassembling individual Wizard Runes.
They are an auxiliary tool to help Low-tier Wizards perceive the world and discern what is real.
As a Wizard continues to grow, the Wizard Meditation Method eventually loses its effectiveness.
At that point, like a child growing into an adult, a Wizard can rely on their own abilities to perceive the world and grasp a deeper reality. From then on, a Wizard must forge their own path, creating the one that is most suitable for them.
A vast amount of knowledge about the fifth Wizard Rune flooded Wang Ya’s mind, and he began to digest and absorb it. Gradually, Wang Ya gained a clear understanding of how to use Meditation to sketch out this Wizard Rune.
His Spiritual Power began to spread, and on a subconscious impulse, he started to sketch the fifth Star next to the other four.
Wang Ya was very calm. He wasn’t expecting to succeed in sketching it out on his first attempt.
Food had to be digested into energy and absorbed by the body before it could have any real effect.
This was his first attempt to sketch the fifth Wizard Rune through Meditation, and he expected to succeed within three tries.
However, to Wang Ya’s surprise, the process was incredibly smooth. There was none of the usual awkwardness, and in just a few moments, he had already sketched out half of it.
Suppressing his excitement, Wang Ya focused on the remaining half. His Spiritual Power was still being consumed rapidly, like water draining from a canal. The process couldn’t be stopped; he had to succeed in sketching it through Meditation in one continuous effort.
But as his Spiritual Power consumption grew, the waves in Wang Ya’s Sea of Spirit became more turbulent. Fatigue began to set in, and he even felt faint, stinging pains.
This was the greatest challenge every Wizard Freshman faced. The process of sketching a Wizard Rune could not be stopped or disturbed. In the later stages, once Spiritual Power consumption reached a certain point, it would begin to affect the Wizard’s physical body.
Under such conditions, the chance of failure was extremely high. Wizards were living beings, not unfeeling machines; they were still subject to their body’s natural reactions.
There were solutions, of course. These included auxiliary measures like Extraordinary Wizard Potions concocted from Magic Potions, special environments created through Witch Array Refining, and Extraordinary Items forged using Alchemy and Witchcraft Artifacts.
Currently, those things were still far out of reach for Wang Ya.
But the more his mind stung with pain, the calmer he became, enduring it. ’If Angelle Rive-Guanxi could persevere,’ he thought, ’there’s no reason I can’t.’
DRIP!
He seemed to hear the phantom sound of water dripping onto bluestone. With every splash, the stinging pain grew more intense.
Until... Wang Ya’s eyes snapped open. They were bloodshot, but his face was lit with an excited smile.
"I did it!"
His palms were slick with sweat. Wang Ya laughed in sheer relief; he had successfully sketched the fifth Wizard Rune through Meditation just moments before his Spiritual Power was completely depleted.
A refreshing sensation spread from the depths of his mind, feeling as if his entire body had been immersed in a cool spring. His Spiritual Power surged, and the surrounding Particle Energy was drawn in, forming a peculiar spectacle of shimmering motes of light.
Wang Ya took in his gains. The boost to his Spiritual Power was greater than any he had experienced before.
[Notification: Wizard Rune sketched through Meditation. Spiritual Power +0.5. Current: 7.7]
The Vast Sea Meditation Method only had a basic section, consisting of nine Wizard Runes. Wang Ya wasn’t certain that mastering the remaining four would be enough for him to advance to Level 1 Wizard Apprentice.
This was where the difference in Wizard Qualification came into play. Someone with Arthur’s level of aptitude would be guaranteed to advance to Level 1 Wizard Apprentice after successfully sketching all nine Wizard Runes.
Those with poor Wizard Qualification who failed to advance after sketching all nine Wizard Runes, their Spiritual Power Value still falling short, had no choice but to find other methods.
One way was to practice a second Wizard Meditation Method. That’s right—Wizard Meditation Methods were not mutually exclusive. They were merely auxiliary tools to help a Wizard perceive the world, so practicing more than one wouldn’t cause them to conflict. However, it would produce other, very serious, negative side effects.
It would also cost a great deal of time and energy, and the gains wouldn’t be worth the losses.
Most Wizards wouldn’t choose this path. Instead, they would opt for Wizard Potions that could increase Spiritual Power, or other items and methods with the same effect.
Many such methods existed, and they could be found within the Dark Land. Of course, for Wild Wizards, acquiring these resources was exceptionally difficult.
Afterward, Wang Ya decided to strike while the iron was hot. He guided the Particle Energy to radiate through and strengthen his physical body, enhancing both and achieving a stable Balance.
A sensation of Power spread throughout his body. ’The value of my particle units must have increased significantly,’ he thought. A faint blue light flickered in Wang Ya’s pupils.
