Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Aquis Secret Record, Legendary War Body Wizard
[Target: Aegis Secret Record]
[Details: A Wizard inheritance left over from an ancient era, which has fortunately been perfectly preserved. Unlike the common Wizard System of the current age, this is a secret record of the ancient and rare War Body Wizards—a branch of Wizards that revered the absolute physical body.]
[Addendum: Spirit, bloodline, consciousness, Dream Realm, Energy, Element, matter... Wizards who pursue the truth explore all unknowns. These were the pioneers who researched the limits of the physical body.]
[Further Analysis Complete: The secret record is incomplete, containing only the foundational section. It can be used to forge the Combat Body ’Thunder Emperor.’ It drastically increases physical stats, grants various Traits, and gives rise to a Talent Ability equivalent to Witchcraft.]
Wang Ya was speechless.
’This is completely outside my area of knowledge.’ Wang Ya currently had no information about War Body Wizards among all the knowledge he possessed.
The books on the Wizard Ship had given the Wizard Freshmen a general understanding of the Wizard World and provided information related to the Wizard Influences in the Dark Land.
’Perhaps I can find some relevant clues in the Dark Land.’
Wang Ya wasn’t sure if this War Body Wizard path was good or bad, or whether he should even try to master its cultivation... He was, however, determined to master the Fury of Hephaestus inheritance. A complete Witchcraft inheritance was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Judging by the number of pages, the Aegis Secret Record seemed more complex and difficult than the Hephis Witchcraft.
It was impossible for one person to learn and master everything. Choosing one’s own Wizard Path was the most important decision of all.
Wang Ya rubbed his forehead. ’What am I even thinking about? I haven’t even entered the Dark Wizard Academy yet. Forget choosing a Wizard Path; I should just be happy I have any Extraordinary Knowledge to master and study at all. The other Wizard Freshmen on the ship are still struggling to grasp the Low-tier Witchcraft they chose.’
Harak’s Extraordinary Cultivation Witchcraft was already complete, so all the time on the Wizard Ship could be used to learn and master this Extraordinary Knowledge. This was Wang Ya’s advantage.
Curiosity was a Wizard’s most fundamental desire. He wanted to see for himself what unique qualities these War Body Wizards possessed and why they were so exceptionally rare in the current age.
However, his research focus would undoubtedly be on the Fury of Hephaestus Witchcraft inheritance. He would only consider looking into the other one after he had completely mastered the former.
He stacked the two books together, held them, and stood up. There was one more important thing to do... sleep!
A powerful wave of exhaustion washed over Wang Ya’s mind. Before collapsing onto the bed, he carefully placed the wooden box containing the ghastly Finger Bone beside his pillow.
Then, an almost irresistible drowsiness overcame him.
Even in his deep sleep, Wang Ya’s brow was slightly furrowed as he clutched the two books.
Outside, the ocean waves rose and fell, their sound faintly drifting into the room with the rocking of the ship.
In a daze, a figure with long green hair seemed to slowly materialize, watching him with a gentle gaze.
Just as she had done many times before, she tried to pull the blanket over him, but her hands passed right through his body.
Her gaze faltered for a moment, then grew complicated. She simply sat on the edge of the bed, watching him quietly for a long, long time. She remained until the sound of waves crashing against blue stone exploded in the air, until the ink-like darkness was pierced by a gloriously brilliant ray of light... The light passed through the window, and in its glow, her figure became even more illusory before vanishing completely.
His black hair was a mess, obscuring his handsome brow.
Wang Ya sat up in bed, one hand propped on his knee while the other ruffled his hair until he felt more awake.
Harak was already awake, flying restlessly around the room, his wings fluttering as he bumped against the window and the ceiling.
Wang Ya yawned, walked over, and opened the window. A brilliant cascade of sunlight poured in, making it feel as if he were bathing in liquid gold.
The salty sea breeze, the warmth on his cheeks—Wang Ya was in an exceptionally good mood.
Except for a certain black crow that was trying to burrow into his shoulder, attempting to slip out the window and enjoy the freedom of the sky.
He flicked Harak’s little head, grabbed his body, and threw him out like a shot put.
Harak recovered instantly, spread his wings, and flew excitedly toward the heavens.
The food in the automated cafeteria was the same as always, utterly monotonous. Wang Ya sat in his usual spot and ate quickly, his mind completely preoccupied with thoughts of the Wizard inheritances.
The allure of High-tier Witchcraft further stoked his interest as a Wizard.
Gray didn’t show up. Perhaps he was in his room feeding his lizard, Kebik.
An elegant figure suddenly appeared before him. He looked up, and his eyes were met first with a shock of eye-catching red hair, and then with a pale, somewhat arrogant face.
Anna spoke up. "The Wizard Ship will reach the Dark Wizard Academy soon. I’ll give you a piece of advice as thanks for that small favor you did for me the other night."
She said in a flat tone, "Give up on Extraordinary Cultivation Witchcraft. Your crow’s size hasn’t changed at all, which proves you have no talent for it. Choose the Elemental Energy Type, focus on Particle Energy Witchcraft, and maybe you can get it changed if you go see the Tuta Wizard."
"I’m planning to start up the wizard gatherings again. Of course, if you chose the Elemental Energy Type, you would be qualified to participate."
Her long red hair seemed to burn the very air. Anna turned and walked away, a gust of wind seemingly following in her wake.
Wang Ya continued to eat his food in silence, his expression unchanging.
But when the other Wizard Freshmen in the automated cafeteria turned their gazes toward him, his brow furrowed slightly.
He hated this kind of meaningless trouble the most.
The many stares held various meanings: surprise, disapproval... It was as if the Wizard Freshmen who chose the path of Extraordinary Cultivation were a tier below them.
Wang Ya’s gaze was cold, his expression utterly placid. He ate his last bite of food, stood up, and walked back toward his cabin.
Back in his room, Wang Ya paid no mind to the minor incident in the cafeteria. People who cared about the opinions and attitudes of others enough to change themselves had lost their sense of self and were truly pitiful.
His gaze fell upon the two books on his desk. In the end, he chose the one with the Witchcraft inheritance.
As he opened it and flipped through the pages, he found many pieces of scratch paper filled with analysis and notes stuck between the sheets.
Sometimes, a single page of notes on the scratch paper contained more content than an entire page of the Inheritance Witch Book itself. As he continued to flip through, he found this was the case for almost the entire Witch Book. This made the Witchcraft inheritance all the more valuable.
Someone, likely a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, had poured their heart, soul, and experience into annotating it. He no longer needed to walk the winding paths they once did. Even the difficulty of analysis for his Eye of Truth would be greatly reduced.
