Chapter 15: Investment Return – SS-Rank Talent
[Fracture Sight - S-rank Talent]
[Reveals exposed weaknesses and unstable points within bodies, equipment, defenses, and Mana flow, allowing the user to target them with greater precision.]
Elara stared at the description, her mouth opened slightly.
An S-rank Talent.
Before today, she had possessed two Talents.
One was SS-rank.
The other was A-rank.
Both were powerful enough to make her one of the strongest students in the university.
Yet, obtaining another S-rank Talent was still beyond anything she had imagined.
Fracture Sight was also perfectly suited to her.
It would allow her to identify weak points and focus her attacks on places that could be destroyed more easily.
Against the Hardened Zombie, her sword had failed because she could not pierce its defenses.
With Fracture Sight, she might have been able to find a thinner section of its hardened flesh or an unstable Mana point.
Elara looked at Cain.
He stood in front of her with a satisfied smile.
Everything she had gained came from him.
The Frostveil Sword.
The S-rank Talent.
Even her life had been saved because Cain arrived before the Hardened Zombie could kill her.
The emotions she had been holding back finally broke free.
Elara stepped forward and jumped into his arms.
Cain opened his eyes wide.
Her arms wrapped around his neck. Two huge soft mountains pressed firmly against his chest.
Cain recovered quickly and hugged her waist.
He had no reason to reject such an affectionate response.
Elara buried her face against his shoulder.
Cain enjoyed the sensation in silence.
Unfortunately, another part of his body responded more aggressively.
Elara suddenly felt something pressing against her lower body.
Her entire body stiffened, then she slowly looked down and looked at Cain.
Her face became bright red.
Cain smiled awkwardly and said, "That’s a natural reaction."
Elara broke free from his arms, her foot came down on his boot.
Bang!
"ARGH!"
Cain jumped backward, then glared at her.
"What was that for?"
"S-Shut up, pervert!"
"What the fuck?" Cain pointed at her and defended himself, "You jumped into my arms!"
Elara’s face remained red.
"That doesn’t mean you can poke me with that!"
"Do you think I control it with my mind?"
"You!"
Elara failed to find a response.
"Hmph!" She puffed her cheeks before turning away, then walked toward the lobby.
Cain watched her leave.
"Wait!"
Elara did not stop.
"What did you get from the scroll?"
"I’ll tell you later!"
Tch!
Cain clicked his tongue.
’What an ungrateful human being, watch how I’ll settle the score with you sooner or later.’ Cain rubbed his injured foot as he thought to himself.
Cain suddenly remembered the System as he had completed two significant investments.
But, the rewards had not arrived yet.
Almost as if responding to his thoughts, several notifications appeared.
[Ding! You have invested a Cyan Scroll in Elara.]
[Ding! Elara has obtained Fracture Sight, an S-rank Talent.]
[Ding! Investment Return obtained: Fracture Sight, S-rank Talent.]
[Ding! You have invested a Blue Orb in Elara.]
[Ding! Elara has obtained the Frostveil Sword, a Rare-rank item.]
[Ding! Investment Return obtained: Strength +5, Agility +15, Mana +5, and Magic +5.]
[Ding! Elara’s Favorability toward you has increased significantly.]
[Ding! Elara is currently experiencing menstrual discomfort. Your care and investment greatly improved her mood, increasing the emotional value of the investment.]
[Ding! The exceptional value of this investment has granted one Reward Ascension Authority.]
[Choose one reward obtained from this investment and increase its rank.]
Cain’s eyes widened.
He had obtained the same S-rank Talent from giving Elara the Cyan Scroll.
The Blue Orb also returned every stat increase provided by the Frostveil Sword, along with Mana and Magic.
Cain could feel the changes immediately as his muscles strengthened and his body became lighter.
Cain looked at the notifications again.
’This is the true definition of killing two birds with one stone.’
Elara had become stronger and he received an equally valuable return.
Then the System gave him the authority to upgrade one of those rewards.
Cain did not need time to decide.
"Upgrade Fracture Sight."
[Ding! Fracture Sight, S-rank Talent, has been selected.]
[Ding! Reward Ascension Authority activated.]
[Ding! Fracture Sight has evolved into Faultline Vision.]
[Faultline Vision - SS-rank Talent]
[Reveals weaknesses, connected structural fault lines, unstable Mana nodes, and likely openings created by a target’s movements. The user can determine the most effective path for an attack by following the perceived fault lines.]
Cain read the description twice.
Fracture Sight revealed exposed weak points.
Faultline Vision went further.
It allowed Cain to see how weaknesses connected to each other.
A crack in armor might lead toward an unstable joint.
A fluctuation in Mana could reveal the path toward a vulnerable node.
The Talent could even show likely openings created while an enemy moved.
It did not control Cain’s body or guarantee that his attack would succeed.
However, Cain possessed enough Agility to take advantage of the information.
Combined with his sword and Piercing Momentum, Faultline Vision was extremely powerful.
Cain then opened his status.
[Cain]
[Level: 11]
[Race: Human]
[Talents: Black Menagerie (Primordial-rank), Faultline Vision (SS-rank), Piercing Momentum (S-rank)]
[Beast: Primordial Chaos Dragon]
[Element: Ruin]
[Skills: Ruin Dragon Force]
[Stats]: Strength: 65 / Agility: 70 (+10) / Physique: 38 / Sense: 38 (+5) / Mana: 186 / Magic: 86
Cain stared at the numbers.
His base Agility had reached seventy. With the Windstep Boots, it became eighty.
The increase was enormous.
Cain took a step and he could feel that his body moved forward faster than expected.
He quickly adjusted his balance.
A satisfied grin appeared on his face.
The Investment Harem System had already proven how valuable it could be.
Cain looked toward the lobby where Elara had disappeared.
’Investing in her was definitely the correct choice.’
