Chapter 42: What exactly is the corruption?
The Corruption – Full World Lore Explanation
(What readers can now understand, written clearly and completely)
Hi everyone, this is kind of an interlude Chapter, to avoid readers guessing so here’s the full gist on The phenomenon known as "the corruption"
The violet energy that has haunted Kai since Emeraldwood is not a disease, not a poison, not a curse, and not ordinary "evil mana."
Its true name is Entropy.
*
The Three Great Forces
The world of Eternal Genesis was shaped by three primordial forces that have existed since the beginning:
Creation – the force that brings things into existence
Order – the force that gives those things structure, rules, and stability
Entropy – the force that allows change, decay, destruction, evolution, and rebirth
In a healthy world these three forces remain in balance.
Creation produces life.
Order gives that life form and meaning.
Entropy ensures that nothing stays frozen forever — things grow, age, break, adapt, and sometimes become something new.
The catastrophe began when someone discovered how to separate Entropy from the other two forces and use it in isolation. Once Entropy was no longer restrained by Creation and Order, it became the phenomenon Kai now sees as violet corruption.

What the Corruption Actually Does
Uncontrolled Entropy forces violent, accelerated transformation on everything it touches — living beings, magical energy, and even the fabric of reality itself.
The process is not the same for every victim.
Some die quickly.
Some mutate into monsters.
A rare few become stronger.
Almost all of them lose their original mind along the way.
*
The Four Stages of Corruption
Stage One – Contamination
The victim first comes into contact with corrupted energy.
Symptoms are subtle: heightened emotions, rising aggression, insomnia, paranoia, increased magical sensitivity, and a vague physical discomfort. Most people never realise anything is wrong.
Stage Two – Assimilation
The corruption begins rewriting the body.
Visible signs appear: violet eyes, changes in skin tone, abnormal growth, sudden increases in strength, strange new magical abilities, and growing emotional instability.
Stage Three – Consumption
The corruption stops merely changing the host and begins rebuilding it.
Memories fragment. Instincts take over. The body mutates further. Mana channels expand. Pain receptors dull. Some victims become recognisable monsters. Others become something the world has no name for yet.
Stage Four – Collapse
One of two outcomes occurs.
Either the host dies...
or the corruption succeeds completely.
No one who has reached true success has ever been studied. What they become remains unknown.

Why the Mistfang Tyrant Changed
The original Mistfang Tyrant was only an A-rank forest predator. When Entropy took root in it, the force accelerated the beast’s evolution far beyond natural limits. Instincts sharpened, the body enlarged and distorted, aggression multiplied, and eventually the creature was rebuilt into the chimeric abomination that appeared in Voltra. The corruption did not simply infect the Tyrant — it used the Tyrant as raw material.
*
Why Artifacts Become Corrupted
Entropy does not limit itself to living things. It can sink into mana crystals, weapons, jewellery, books, armour — anything that holds magical energy. Over time these objects become reservoirs. They begin leaking corrupted influence into their surroundings, slowly contaminating whoever stays near them for too long.
This is the true purpose of the Curator’s auctions. He is not merely selling rare merchandise. He is planting seeds across Voltra. Every corrupted artifact that leaves the underground hall is a new potential outbreak waiting to mature.
*
Why the Corruption Appears Violet
Every form of mana has a natural colour that reflects its frequency:
fire burns red, water flows blue, nature shines green.
Entropy has no stable frequency of its own. As it tears ordinary mana apart and forces it into new shapes, the violent reconstruction produces the distinctive violet light Kai keeps seeing. The colour is the visible scar of reality being rewritten.
*
Why Kai Can See It So Clearly
Most people only sense the corruption after it has grown strong. Kai’s Arcane Eye lets him perceive hidden structures and truths. He sees the violet energy in its early, almost invisible stages — the thin threads inside artifacts, the faint network forming across the auction hall, the slow pulse beneath a living vessel’s skin. That ability makes him uniquely dangerous to the people spreading it... and uniquely valuable.
*
Why the System Hates It
The Husband Collection System is fundamentally aligned with Creation. Its purpose is to build bonds, form connections, and cultivate growth.
Entropy does the opposite. It dissolves boundaries, dismantles identities, and tears down order. To the System, the corruption is not merely a threat — it is an ideological enemy. That is why every encounter produces sharp warnings and elevated alerts.
*
Why the Curator Wants It
Power. Evolution. Immortality. Knowledge. Revenge. Madness.
Any or all of these may drive him.
What is certain is that he is not simply collecting curiosities. The careful stabilisation of living vessels, the deliberate seeding of artifacts, and the construction of energy networks inside places like the auction hall all point to the same conclusion: the Curator is building something. The auctions are only one visible part of a much larger design.
*
Why Other Characters Matter
Nox Ravish can read residual traces left by powerful events. Corruption leaves extremely vivid footprints, which is why he was able to track the group from the destroyed warehouse so quickly.
Rhydian, like other high-tier beast rulers, possesses a powerful bloodline that resists Entropy longer than ordinary beings. That same strength, however, means that if he ever fell completely, the result would be catastrophic.
Kai is the greatest unknown. He already carries Beautification Beyond Measure, the Arcane Eye, Infinite Strength, the Husband Collection System, and a fate that has been altered once. The corruption is trying to rewrite someone who has already stepped outside the normal rules of the world. No one — not even the System — knows what will happen if the two forces ever truly collide.
Other characters roles would be revealed later on
*
The Terrifying Truth
The corruption is not trying to kill the world.
It is not trying to conquer it.
It is not even trying to destroy it.
It is trying to change it.
And it does not care whether anyone wants that change or not.
In that sense, Entropy is alive.
It has direction.
It has patience.
And every seeded artifact, every transformed beast, and every living vessel is another step toward a world remade in its image.
That is what Kai is really standing against.
