Chapter 56: Drunk Girl April
Chapter 56: Drunk Girl April
Third Person
Angel was busy enjoying the time of her life. Well, it was her daily lifestyle.
Having two girls on her lap, making out, was a normal Tuesday.
The bass from the loudspeakers thudded through the wooden floor of the hut, but Angel paid no attention to the music or the crowd dancing along the shore. Her hands rested lazily on the hips of the two bikini-clad girls, her fingers digging slightly into their skin as she traded slow, heavy kisses between them.
"So, Angel, is that the mistress’s daughter?" Anthony Miller, the one in charge of security and the third right-hand man to Ms. Morningstar, asked.
He was twice Angel’s age. Even though Angel looked down on him as an inferior, he acted as a mentor to the young master.
"Is your mother aware that she is here, in the district?" Anthony said. He was sitting at the other end, busy with his cigar as his eyes stayed on April, who was drinking margaritas at the bar.
"I don’t need to inform my mother about that girl’s daily activities. If she wants, she can call her herself and ask about her whereabouts. And this is a wedding celebration. Anyone is invited," Angel said.
Her voice was cold and completely unbothered.
She wasn’t even looking in April’s direction. Instead, her eyes were on the girls’ titties, watching the way their chest rose and fell against her chest.
"I heard they are planning their fourth wedding anniversary next month. Madam is working on it." Anthony tapped a thin layer of grey ash from the end of his cigar.
"I don’t give a fuck about those two. So I heard you’re making Javier Sanchez next in line for Head of Security. Are you going to let Madam control every corner of the district?" Angel asked.
She still wasn’t looking at Anthony. One of the girls placed a cigarette between Angel’s lips and lit it for her. Angel took a drag, removed the cigarette, then kissed the girl with the smoke still in her mouth.
The girl gasped softly into the kiss, letting out a hazy grey cloud as Angel pulled back with a dark smirk.
Anthony didn’t answer. He just took another slow drag of his cigar, letting the silence stretch out between them.
Angel stopped and looked at him. Her crimson eyes narrowed into sharp slits.
"So, you’re her little bitch now?"
"I’m not, Angel. You know she is your mother’s right-hand woman. She is her eyes and ears. I’m sure it was Ms. Morningstar’s choice." Anthony shrugged, his voice staying smooth and level despite her sharp insult.
"That woman is too much of a pussy to her mistress. I’m sure she doesn’t even know how the monthly expenses in this place work," Angel said.
She spat the words out with disgust. She might be the heir to the so-called empire her mother built, but it was only in name. Her mother’s best friend ran the place and handled the finances. Even Angel had to ask for permission before making decisions concerning the district, a fact that made her jaw clench every single time she thought about it.
Angel realized Anthony’s eyes were focused on someone else, so she followed his gaze. It landed on April, who was at the bar, drinking herself silly.
April was leaning heavily against the wooden counter, her round glasses slipping slightly down the bridge of her nose as she tipped another glass back.
"She really is a heavy drinker," Anthony said, swirling the dark ice in his glass.
"This is the first time I’ve seen her drink that much," Angel replied, still watching the girl.
April and Katie were now racing each other with shot after shot. April’s face was flushed a deep, bright red, her small hands shaking slightly as she slammed empty glass after empty glass onto the sticky bar top.
The hut gradually grew quiet as Angel’s eyes remained fixed on the four-eyed girl.
The noise of the party seemed to fade into the background. Angel stopped running her fingers through the girl’s hair, her whole body freezing as she tracked April’s every single move across the sand.
From taking shots to dancing like a crazy drunk on the beach sand, April stumbled around in the open air, her long hair wild around her shoulders. She grabbed a tiny plastic hoop, spinning it around her waist for two seconds before tripping over her own feet and falling flat on her rear with a loud laugh. Then she grabbed a bottle from a performer, spitting out plain air and coughing hysterically as the crowd cheered.
A smile unknowingly formed on Angel’s face.
Her dimples showed faintly on her cheeks, her cold expression completely softening as she watched the messy girl make a complete fool of herself.
Even the girls on her lap seemed to cease existing. Angel’s hands went totally limp, no longer touching or holding them.
"Angel..." Anthony called.
He had called her several times before finally raising his voice.
Angel turned toward him, blinking quickly as if snapping out of a deep spell.
"Yes?"
"You seemed lost for a moment. Is everything alright?" Anthony raised an eyebrow, scanning her face with a strange look.
"Yeah, all is well. What were we discussing?" Angel muttered, shifting slightly on her seat.
Then Angel glanced back at April, who was now holding someone’s hand and trying to kiss them.
Some random Alpha at the edge of the bar had pulled April close by her waist, and April, completely out of her mind, was leaning in with her eyes closed, reaching for their lips.
A sudden, violent wave of dark rage shot through Angel’s chest. Her blood boiled instantly.
Without thinking twice, Angel pushed the girls off her lap, stood up, and walked straight toward April.
The two girls squeaked in surprise as they hit the wooden floor, but Angel didn’t even look back at them. She cut through the crowded beach like a blade, her sneakers kicking up sand. She reached the bar in three long strides, grabbed the random guy’s wrist, and yanked him backward so hard he fell onto the deck.
She grabbed April by the waist and dragged her back to the hut.
April stumbled along, her feet dragging through the sand as Angel lifted her effortless frame straight into the air and carried her inside the shade.
Now April was the one sitting on Angel’s lap.
April collapsed heavily against Angel’s bare chest, her warm, alcohol-laced breath fanning over Angel’s collarbones. She blinked up at her with heavy, glassy eyes.
"You are such a devil..." April mumbled, cupping both of Angel’s cheeks with her small, hot hands. She pulled Angel’s face down toward hers, her mouth sloppy and loose.
Anthony blinked rapidly, his mouth hanging half open as he watched the drunk girl trying to steal a kiss from her supposed stepsister. His hand froze in mid-air, holding his cigar an inch away from his mouth.
Angel grabbed April’s wrists, holding her steady so she wouldn’t fall off her knees, though her own heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped wild animal.
"She’s just drunk. I’ll take her to a room so she can rest. I’ll be right back, Anthony."
Angel didn’t wait for his reply. She slid one arm under April’s knees and the other around her back, carrying April in her arms as she stood up. She turned on her heel and left the beach to find a resort room, her jaw set tight as April buried her face into the crook of her neck.
Anthony watched their retreating figures disappear down the dark wooden walkway toward the resort buildings. He shook his head slowly, taking a long drag from his cigar and blowing the thick smoke into the ocean air.
"What is going on between those two?" Anthony muttered before taking another sip of his rum.
