Chapter 14: Gentle Hands

Her eyes traced the lines of his chest before she forcibly dragged them back up to his face. His expression was still guarded and sharp, but he looked a little tired.

She stared at the area, and when she didn’t see any bruise, she reached out to touch his side.

Ermin’s hand jerked up to catch her wrist in a painful grip.

Her eyes widened at the force behind his hold.

He was very strong.

"I—I just want to check it properly. I am being honest." Tera quickly assured him. "It could either be a deeper bruise or a strained muscle, and I could help massage it a bit to ease the pain if that is the case."

He looked confused. "But you don’t know how to do anything."

"How do you know? You hardly know me." Tera shot back, her resolve growing stronger. "Just let me help you."

Ermin’s eyes narrowed before he slowly released her and leaned back.

Tera pressed her fingers gently against his ribs, starting on the left side where he had been clutching. He hissed through his teeth.

"Does that hurt?"

"Obviously."

She moved her fingers along the rib. It didn’t feel broken, but the muscle around it was tight and swollen. He had probably strained something badly during the climb or from pulling her.

"I can help with that." She pressed her thumb into the tight muscle and started working it in slow circles.

Ermin stiffened. "What are you doing?"

"Massaging the place."

"I didn’t ask you to—"

"Would you rather sit here in pain while the storm passes?"

He went quiet. His body was rigid under her hands, every muscle tense, as if he was bracing for an attack.

She pressed lightly, and he hissed through his teeth.

"Sorry," she murmured. "I’ll be careful."

Tera focused, lightly and slowly pressing the surrounding muscle. It helped her to focus, and she slowly found herself absorbed in it.

Heat radiated from his skin into her palms. The rain had left him slick, and her fingers slid easily over the hard planes of his side. She worked the muscle carefully, feeling it slowly loosen under her touch.

This little experience she had gotten from her gym sessions had come in handy, and she was grateful that all Ermin experienced was just a muscle strain.

A broken rib would have been a problem.

As she worked on the beast man, he too was also preoccupied with his own thoughts and sensations.

Her hands were soft.

The pain in his ribs dulled under her fingers, and a warm, tingling relief spread out from every spot she touched.

This confused him. Why was the pain just going away from what she was doing? He didn’t want it to feel good.

He looked up to see her face, already feeling irritated by her antics.

She was trying to seduce him.

But when he saw that she wasn’t even looking at him and was actually lost in concentration, he was confused.

She leaned closer, and Ermin noticed that her face was cleaner than he had ever seen it. Without the usual scheming look, she was a bit pretty.

He squashed that thought immediately. She was not pretty. He refused.

Ermin tried to think of the storm outside and how she had caused him to be exiled with her when her hand spread wider. Her palm glided from his side to his stomach, and Ermin’s thoughts scattered like leaves in the wind.

His tail curled behind him before giving a single generous thump against the floor. This irritated Ermin, and he forced his tail to remain still.

But her hands were still moving, still spreading warmth through his side and stomach, and his body was betraying him with every pass of her fingers.

He hated her for what she had done, for being here, for having soft hands, and for smelling like rain and herbs when she was supposed to be the stupid female who had ruined his life.

Tera soon noticed that Ermin’s breathing had started to change, which was strange because he should be relaxed by now.

His heart was also beating very fast.

Then there was the slow thumping of his tail against the floor.

Tera paused and looked up at Ermin’s face.

His eyes were closed with a frown of utmost concentration. But his lips were slightly parted, and Tera did not miss the faint flush creeping up his neck.

She then looked down to find that his loincloth was prominently tented. The evidence of his arousal was impossible to miss, and the way the wet fabric clung to the outline of his cock left nothing to the imagination.

Tera stared at it for probably a second too long, and the cave was suddenly very quiet.

Ermin opened his eyes to find Tera looking, and his face twisted with a mixture of fury and humiliation.

"This is your fault."

Tera blinked. "Eh?"

"I should have known this is what you were trying to do."

She opened her mouth to defend herself, still genuinely confused by how fast everything had shifted, when her words died in her throat.

Ermin’s eyes had changed.

The anger was still there, simmering beneath the surface, but it had cooled into a steady stillness. The kind of focus that didn’t belong to a man who was flustered or embarrassed.

He looked like an entirely different person with that brooding, deadpan expression. As if he were deciding what to do with her.

The intensity of his stare made the space between Tera’s legs pulse.

He looked like a very dangerous predator.

Ermin sat up, his eyes never leaving hers.

He had always had this soft, beautiful look to him, but now there was nothing soft about him. Tera had never seen this side of him before, not like she had ever had much opportunity to.

Her breath caught in her throat when he gently grabbed her head and guided it down toward his lap. The thick, hard outline of his cock strained against the wet loincloth inches from her face.

"Take care of this." His voice had taken on a rough, low tone. "It wasn’t a problem for you before."
