Chapter 11: Spatial Teleportation

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Spatial Teleportation

Teleporting through the Kamui dimension required a "coordinate." Since he had left a coordinate on Denji, he could teleport to Denji’s side at any time, no matter where Denji was.

The farther the teleportation distance, the greater the consumption of ocular power and physical stamina. As for exactly how great that consumption would be, even he was not sure.

Of course, it was not as if spatial teleportation absolutely required a coordinate. Blind teleportation was possible too, but blind teleportation could not directly locate a specific person or a specific place. For example, if he wanted to blindly teleport to America, he could do it as long as he knew the general direction.

"Don’t make that face. It’s not like I’m never coming back."

Kotone Asaba patted Denji on the head. "That’s that. Study properly at school. I’m leaving."

With that, he temporarily parted ways with Denji.

Before he left, Denji’s Affinity rose again, and it was already not far from reaching one hundred percent.

Walking down the street, Kotone Asaba casually bought a newspaper from a convenience store.

In the newspaper, he saw the news he wanted to see.

The news about old man Hamano and the others turning into zombies yesterday had already been exposed. The likely situation was that members of the yakuza had gone looking for their boss and discovered the zombified corpses. By early this morning, the police had already dealt with all the bodies at the scene.

The Zombie Devil was nowhere to be found, and the zombified people had been further exterminated. It looked like human intervention, so the police judged that it was probably the work of some Devil Hunter.

Because of that, the police did not continue investigating. After all, the zombified people were members of the yakuza, and it was completely legal for a Devil Hunter to kill zombies.

So the incident was left unresolved. At most, they would verbally request that the Private Devil Hunter Guild issue an extermination order for the Zombie Devil. The yakuza could only aim their hatred at the Zombie Devil.

No one knew that the Zombie Devil had actually already been killed by Kotone Asaba.

After reading the news article, Kotone Asaba tossed the newspaper into a nearby trash can.

Now it was time for him to start thinking about how to come into contact with Kobeni Higashiyama. The third page of the Affinity Codex he had unlocked was Kobeni Higashiyama, and he had already learned her basic information.

She studied at Chiba Rissei High School in Chiba Prefecture, so the best move would be for him to enter that high school as well.

But high school was no longer compulsory education, and it was not currently enrollment season either. He would have to be like Denji in the original story.

In the second part of the original manga, Denji could attend high school directly. He had most likely relied on Kishibe’s connections. With Kishibe’s status in Tokyo Public Safety, and even in Japanese society as a whole, getting Denji directly enrolled in a high school would definitely have been easy.

Kotone Asaba’s situation was better than Denji’s in the original story. At the very least, he should have no problem passing a high school entrance exam. Before crossing over, he had been a high school student, so his academic foundation was good enough.

Although the contents of a Japanese high school entrance exam would definitely be different, now that he had the Mangekyo Sharingan, his learning ability also far surpassed ordinary people’s.

As long as he could pass the entrance exam, then spending some money and using a few connections should be enough.

Money was also a small matter. As for connections, Kotone Asaba planned to go to Chiba Prefecture first and make a name for himself at the Private Devil Hunter Guild there.

Once his reputation was high enough, connections would naturally become a minor issue too.

Thinking this, Kotone Asaba decided to set off directly for Chiba Prefecture first.

Incidentally, Chiba Prefecture was not some small county town. Japanese place names were just like that. In reality, it was a large city.

After arriving at the subway station, Kotone Asaba took the subway to Chiba Prefecture.

He did not have a "coordinate" in Chiba Prefecture, so he could not directly teleport there through the Kamui dimension.

As everyone knew, Japanese subways were always packed with people. Kotone Asaba had no choice but to squeeze onto the subway while holding Pochita.

Fortunately, Chiba Prefecture was right "next door" to Tokyo Metropolis, so it was not very far. Before too long, he arrived at the station.

After reaching Chiba Prefecture, the first thing he needed to do was find the local Private Devil Hunter Guild.

After leaving the station, Kotone Asaba prepared to hail a taxi and have it take him straight to the Private Devil Hunter Guild.

But just then, he suddenly heard screams and cries for help coming from ahead. It seemed that a devil had appeared directly on the street, throwing the crowd into chaos.

Kotone Asaba just so happened to need to raise his reputation, and now a devil had delivered itself to his doorstep. Carrying Pochita with him, he ran straight toward the direction where the devil had appeared.

Soon, a Crab Devil appeared before his eyes.

Compared to an ordinary crab, the Crab Devil’s body was abnormally huge. It was even twice as tall as a person. Its head had four enormous eyes, the eight crab legs beneath it were extraordinarily sharp, and its pincers were terrifyingly large. With one casual snap, it easily cut a car on the street in half. Fortunately, there was no one inside.

Its shell looked extremely hard, and it was covered in intestine-like growths as well as all kinds of spikes.

The police and private Devil Hunters were still on their way. In the area, Kotone Asaba was the only Devil Hunter present.

Kotone Asaba immediately grabbed Pochita and used him as a chainsaw weapon, just like usual.

At the same time as he used the Kamui in his right eye to absorb himself into the Kamui dimension, his left eye also opened a Kamui dimension portal above the Crab Devil’s head.

The next moment, he appeared instantly from the spatial opening above the Crab Devil’s head as if he had teleported. The Crab Devil had no time to react before the chainsaw in his hand split its head open.

Immediately after that, he split the Crab Devil’s entire body in two. The crab shell that had seemed so hard looked unbelievably fragile before Pochita’s chainsaw.

The Crab Devil itself was not some powerful devil either. After all, how much fear could people really have toward crabs? It was only because of its size advantage that it could freely slaughter ordinary humans. In front of a slightly stronger Devil Hunter, it could only be killed.

"This ability really is convenient..."

Kotone Asaba looked at the Crab Devil’s corpse and muttered to himself.

What he had just used was the ability of spatial teleportation. In Naruto, Obito had relied on this ability to freely travel through the shinobi world. Usually, however, Obito only had the Kamui in his right eye, while Kotone, who possessed double Kamui, was different.

Within his visible field of view, he could use the Kamui in his right eye to absorb himself while using the Kamui in his left eye to open a spatial entrance and exit in the distance.

That way, he could skip the process of entering the Kamui dimension. In other words, the two "doors" opened by the right-eye Kamui and left-eye Kamui were connected to each other, and the Kamui dimension did not need to serve as a "transfer station."

If he only had one Kamui eye, he would have to absorb himself into the Kamui dimension first, then open another spatial opening elsewhere from within that transfer station and teleport over. Compared to double Kamui, that would be slower.

As for consumption, such a short distance did not cost him much.

Just as Kotone Asaba was about to absorb the Crab Devil’s corpse into the Kamui dimension, the other private Devil Hunters had already arrived.

And the person who appeared before him was none other than... Aki Hayakawa?
