Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Mocha Forest 8

Moira Lynch stored these ingredients in her warehouse and found a special box to store the Energy Ores.

Looking at the flourishing space, Moira Lynch felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction. ’This must be what they call a sense of security.’

When she had collected ingredients in the forest, she had preserved the root systems of most plants, wanting to see if they could be grown in her space.

Moira Lynch planted the intact plants one by one in the soil, then placed a circle of Water Wood Stones around them.

After busying herself all night, it was already the next day by the time Moira Lynch emerged from her space.

The sky was just beginning to brighten. As soon as she emerged, Moira Lynch smelled a pungent odor.

She looked in the direction the smell was coming from. Whoa, that was a huge pile of crap.

Only then did she notice that the surrounding plants looked trampled. Seeing this, Moira Lynch immediately left the dangerous area.

Before leaving, Moira Lynch glanced back at the pile of crap and, with a wave of her hand, collected it into her space.

In the forest, weaker animals did their best to hide their presence. But there was one exception: predators.

Because they had no natural enemies, they didn’t need to hide their presence.

Just like top hunters such as lions use urine to mark their territory.

The forest was quiet at this moment. Fortunately, Moira Lynch had grown accustomed to this atmosphere. Still, she occasionally wondered if it was a bit abnormal for such a vast forest not to have a single bird.

’If I can’t figure it out, I won’t dwell on it. The world is full of secrets. There’s no need to know everything. Besides, we’ll leave once the game is over, so there’s no point wasting time on such things.’

The parrots she had released yesterday were now returning one after another.

Guided by these parrots, Moira Lynch found a pine forest, sunflowers as tall as a two-story building with fruits larger than a car, walnuts the size of a human head, and fist-sized Chestnuts.

Along the way, she also raided the food stashes of several unknown animals, collecting so many nuts her hands started to cramp.

Although she tried to avoid them, Moira Lynch still ran into some other players. Seeing her empty-handed, a flash of disappointment couldn’t help but cross their eyes.

Of course, some also tried to get her to join their group.

Moira Lynch looked at the girl in the white dress standing before her, whom she had met once before.

Her white dress was now filthy, covered with dead branches, rotten leaves, and supplies. The overpowering perfume she once wore was also gone.

"What right do you have to refuse us?" the girl in the white dress demanded angrily.

"Your basket is gone anyway, so you might as well help us finish the game. We’re all on the same side, so we should help each other. You can’t be so selfish."

Moira Lynch almost laughed out of annoyance at this speech. ’Trying to guilt-trip me? Too bad I don’t have a conscience.’

’Help each other? More like they want to use me as a free sucker.’

’Her yapping little mouth looks like it’s smeared with shit.’

Seeing that Moira Lynch was completely unreceptive, the companions behind the girl in the white dress all began to give her hostile looks.

It seemed they planned to use force to make her comply. In their eyes, she was just someone destined to be disqualified from the game anyway, so they didn’t take her seriously.

Once this game was over, they would be in two different worlds. Right now, they were just trying to squeeze out her remaining value.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch took two steps back. The girl in the white dress thought she was scared and lifted her chin arrogantly, preparing to say something.

The next second, however, something dark and mushy splattered right across her face, followed by a pungent stench that filled her nostrils.

The companions of the girl in the white dress suffered a similar fate. They all had a dark, mushy substance splattered on their faces, the pungent smell nearly suffocating them.

These people quickly realized Moira Lynch was behind this and unleashed all sorts of colorful abilities toward the spot where she had just been standing.

By then, however, Moira Lynch was long gone. Also missing were the baskets in their hands.

Moira Lynch operated on a simple principle: she wouldn’t bother anyone who didn’t bother her. She was no saint, especially not in a world like this.

Since she had already made enemies of them, she might as well pull the problem out by the roots and make them lose their eligibility for the game. That way, they couldn’t be a threat to her in the future.

After running a good distance and confirming no one was chasing her, Moira Lynch finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Thinking back on the recent scene, she couldn’t help but burst out laughing. She hadn’t expected that pile of crap to come in handy so quickly.

Moreover, she had successfully unlocked a new method of attack.

If she could use her spiritual power combined with her space to retrieve objects from a distance, then sending objects from a distance was naturally possible too.

She found a patch of tall grass, dove into it, and then slipped into her space.

After transferring all the points from the other baskets to herself, her rank successfully rose to fourth place.

Moira Lynch clicked her tongue. ’Tsk. Robbery really is the fastest way to get rich. Snatching other people’s points is so much faster than collecting them bit by bit.’

’Since I stole their baskets, they’ll definitely be desperately searching for me.’

Moira Lynch took off her army-green clothes, took a shower, and changed into a black tracksuit, a black mask and hat, and fingerless gloves. Then she put on a very conspicuous cross earring.

’Looks like I can’t tie grass to myself this time. They’ve already seen that, so I’ll have to find another way to disguise myself.’

After emerging from her space again, a Budgerigar found her. Moira Lynch did a quick count. Not including this one, there were still five that hadn’t returned.

The further she followed the Budgerigar, the more Moira Lynch felt that something was off. She took off her mask and found the air filled with the scent of mint.

There had been mint at the orphanage where Moira Lynch grew up, so she was certain she wasn’t mistaken.

She called the Budgerigar back, signaling for it to wait a moment before she followed.

’Mint is good stuff. Not only can it repel mosquitoes, but you can also make tea with it.’

Following the scent, Moira Lynch finally found its source. It was just that the mint in front of her was a bit different from what she had imagined.

’This is huge!’

The leaves were big enough to be used as blankets.

However, based on Moira Lynch’s experience, giant plants usually concealed Energy Ores beneath them.

Looking at how well the mint was growing, there was probably a considerable amount.

Moira Lynch first found a suitable spot in her space, preparing to see if she could transplant this patch of mint directly.

As the first mint plant vanished, Moira Lynch knew she had succeeded. However, considering the limits of her spiritual power, she only transplanted the few largest ones into her space. After watering them, she laid down Water Wood Stones around them.

She cut down the rest with a sickle and stored them in her warehouse.

And as the mint disappeared, the fluctuations of the Energy Ores underground gradually became apparent.

As usual, she used her spiritual power to snatch up all the Energy Ores in one go. By the time she left, the scent of mint in the air had mostly dissipated.
